She is simply enjoying the petting.

[really, it's more a deflection, because while she knows how people should interact with animals, that's people. why would a dog become attached to her, unless it was looking for something. blue eyes gaze down into Daisy's, and she wonders what she should do next for her in order to reaffirm the trust that is apparently there.]
