Sup, this is Dave. Dirk and I are gonna make some mad modifications to one of the observatories - we got permission from our kindly ai overlady, but like. Heads up? Also by mad modifications I mean basically an aquarium thing that'll take up a lot of the room and by Dirk and I, I of course mean mostly him with me standing around looking pretty and handing him shit ala Vanna White? Wait did Vanna ever like hand people shit or did she just gesture dramatically - you know what, tangent, forget that. Rose and I have an alien fishbaby now apparently and we have to like, protect his cute shit.

P.S. if anyone tries to eat Magister Snoop Dogg imma have to fuck you up a bit, and by that I mean I'll totally tattle on you to Rose and she'll fuck you up a lot. Also if you wanna help with the aquarium thing - URSULA gave us some ideas? - talk to my bro, he looks like me but with more animu hair and also pointier shades. So I guess just look for the more anime-lookin' Strider and you'll have a p good chance of grabbin' the right one. He'll handle, like, recruitment for that since I am the Strider who has only just learned that wrenches all have different names, and that those names are not, like, Bob and Larry. If you wanna meet the Magister, I guess grab the non-anime Strider? We're like, usually pretty color coordinated for your convenience anyway. If there's red, it's me, if there's orange, you got my bromo sapien counterpart.

[ it's easy enough to just reply to dave here, of course - though he might direct you to leave a message with dirk if you're looking to volunteer - but you also could potentially find the strider brothers in the observatory they're taking over. dirk is almost always going to look way busier than dave no matter when you walk in, since dave is sort of trying not to fuck anything up and is mostly relegating himself to handing dirk things and occasionally asking what's even happening. dirk actually knows what he's doing so it's pretty clear he's in charge of the whole. things happening part.

dave honestly spends 90% of the "helping" time playing with his alien fishbaby in a container in the corner. he's mostly moral support, okay. ]

There's also the matter of your heroics, Dave. They take more of an animanga shape overall, rather than a Western one. It could be the ninja-moves, and your original sword was an anime sword, no? I do believe covering ones' eyes is an anime trope of some kind, though sunglasses are presumably considered different from normal glasses that the "smart types" wear. As well, before John gave you those shades, you wore the same pointy ones that our dear father does, yes? Mhm, while perhaps these traits don't count quite as much as they would be considered nurture over nature they are still worth noting.

They're not mirrorshades, but I think there's a fair argument to be made for the idea that Dave's shades fall into cyberpunk category. That would also work with his refusal to accept a heroic designation.
