Closed | Journey Into The Void | sometime before and up to the 22nd
[They're under attack (they've been under attack) and they need solutions, answers, help in any form that they can get it. There is a constant thread of green light weaving between all of their questions, pointing them to what they just might need to solve this whole mess, but they need to get to the heart of it first. Literally, because it's sort of the planet's heart, somewhere in the dreamscape.
Deep diving into the dreamscape for an extended period of time is something they haven't done before, at least not intentionally, so they do take the time to prepare. With their bodies in the pods they should be safe from any warping attempts, and they can trust everyone in the base to look out for them while they're asleep. They don't know how long it will take them to find the green light they're searching for. But they can try to make sure that they find it before it's too late to count.
Even with adrenaline running high, it's easy to fall asleep in the pods. Sorey opens his eyes first, to see that the dreamscape is as serene as ever. There's a faint sound of the Void Song far, far off, and he tilts his head in that direction before turning around and counting heads.]
Are you guys good to go?
((OOC post for reference.))

[he does look at Mikleo and Dirk for confirmation of that, though, making it more of a "we probably didn't do anything crazy" more than a certainty]
no subject
[That definitely was crazy]

[looks to Sorey and Dirk for confirmation]
Unless it does something we didn't predict, or is feeling more hostile, but I hope not.
[not much time for second thoughts left, though; the scarred area around the Void is coming into sight. it's not as bad as it was before, but it's still covered in unpleasant twisting shadows.]

I was hoping it would kick us out again since it worked last time...but otherwise we should just need to wake up, right? And we might have the Void Song stuck in our heads for a few days.
no subject
[It's an advantage of the splintering; he can keep a foot in both worlds.]
no subject
Let me guess. That's our whale-mom? [He starts to drift toward it, though looking for confirmation.] I just wanted to be sure. I don't like the idea of us getting trapped without a back-up and and back-up back-up.

[waving her down accordingly]

Long time no see, Titania! We brought some friends. And we came to ask for some help, if you can give it. We're looking for a way to the green light--think you can help us out?

Am I supposed to bow or something? [Someone please just get him to shut up so that our whale friend can help us out.]

[leaving it to Sorey to explain the situation to her; luckily, Titania doesn't seem to mind swimming and talking at the same time. the walls of the Void rise up around them, the light dimming; but the singing is a slightly stronger note in the background.]
no subject
[He keeps it brief and explains the situation to her as they go; even when she drafts away to chase off nearby shadows Sorey keeps going, and she swims right back and keeps listening. the warpers aren't able to dive into the dreamscape so he takes a little extra time to try and describe them.]
...So, we're sort of hoping that we can get some answers this way, or work together to find a solution. Unless there's anything else we're looking for too?
[he looks as Percy as he adds on that last part, since it's his first time diving this deep into the dreamscape and he likely had the most questions]
no subject
Drive back the warpers, talk to the soul, and learn more about the pulse if possible. [He doesn't even know if that's relevant, but the first two are his goal.] That's all I'd like to find out.
no subject
that's probably a good thing; there's faint noise below them, roars and shrieks. very far away, still, but definitely Reapers...]
no subject
it takes a while for them to get close to their destination. (it takes a week actually, but who's counting.) the hours and days blur together into one long, long trip in the dreamscape. time seems to lose meaning a little; it's hard to count the passing of time in a dream, after all. the only thing they can do is keep going. until, quite suddenly, the Void Song intensifies they find the green light they're looking for, blinding and throbbing like a heartbeat.]
no subject
So, okay. Okay, he can just go along for the ride and he's silent the whole time, staying on guard. Maybe that's why he thinks nothing of the time, doesn't find himself getting tired and allowing his mind to go a little blank.
Of course, he jerks back in the dreamscape as he notices the light, bringing a hand up to block the brightness. He stops swimming for just a moment, looking at Titania and the light and speaking up over the song to be heard.]
Huh. Wonder what that is. [He glances back to the others.] Think it's ready for us?
no subject
[Dirk glances around. As long as everyone is okay, they'll be fine. He decides he should tell his family that they're hitting the light now so that if something happens, they'll know to act.]
I'm directing my waking body back to the Monolith and getting someone or someones to come with me. If things go bad, me or they will try to get us out.
no subject
[clutches his staff closer, though, a subtle nervous gesture that he mostly keeps out of his voice; he remembers the emotional buffeting the soul gave them last time, how it changes from one emotion to another in the breath of a moment. that kind of contradiction breeds malevolence back home, at such powerful levels; they got away from it unscathed once, but he still has to mentally brace for it. it's just as well the trip down was so long.]
...if it doesn't respond to words -- it didn't last time -- try to interface with it emotionally, to--to get on its ground. That may have better results, or at least different ones.
no subject
Without words, it feels like it asks a question of them. With Sorey and Mikleo it feels gentle and warm. Its feeling is harsher and more mixed at Dirk. It is gentle with Percy but not as warm, like it hasn't made up its mind about him yet.]
no subject
Hello again. I don't know if you know why we're here, but we wanted to better understand what's happening to this planet--to you. And, if possible, we'd like to help.
[he hums a small snippet of the Song, pushing that same feeling of we want to know and we want to help along with it, hoping that it can understand those feelings even if it can't fully understand his words]

Sorey's right. There are a lot of questions, but we can't help if we don't know why these things are happening. [And in addition to that, he focuses on the aliens from the original lab at the Lost River, the data they couldn't interpret and channels the need to understand what happened to cause all of this. He does his best not to overload with questions, questions about what happened to him when he disappeared for a week or about the pulse but he fixates on the desire to make the planet less confused. Confusion sucks.]
no subject
(look he's a curious boy)
he dials it back, though. the others have covered what they need to ask, so he reinforces things with his own quiet hum of the Song, conveying steadiness and calm with it, helpful stability, that they mean no harm. he remembers the wild conflict the planet soul embodied last time. he's willing to try and give it an anchor against that, if it needs one.]
