expulsions: (Don't turn around)
[personal profile] expulsions
audio;
[Since someone yelled at him the last time he did a telepathy broadcast, this one is just a short audio message.]

Word of advice? Reapers are even more angry than usual when they aren't sleeping either. Fish have their own nightmares which is weird, like, what can fish even dream about? I haven't asked most of them.

Anyway, the reefbacks were a little more helpful. Fighting back makes nightmares worse, so they've been teaching me to meditate. [Judging by the tone, it wouldn't be his first pick for a remedy, let's be real.] Not easy, but it surprisingly works? I don't get it either but it's helpful. I think I can probably teach it for anybody who wants to learn in the future.

And in non-nightmare news, I'm looking for somebody who knows about rocks or metals. Both would also be cool. Found some things you might want to look at. Contact me if interested I guess. I'll be up on the island. [There's a pause, and then he sounds much more amused.] Or in Perseus Bay.

[Sorry. Had to. Someday it'll stop being funny to him, but not today.]

Island;

[As promised, when he's not floating around in the bay Percy's up on the island near where the base is going to be completed. He has his feet in the water and a little way away there's a small cluster of reefbacks watching him and chattering amongst themselves. Next to him are manganese rocks and a few other unidentifiable chunks of metal. But he seems to be focusing on what the reefbacks are saying, oddly serious for the time being.]

Humming I can do, but I think you're pushing it by asking me to sing. [Stop this.]
scytheology: (that's not really her style)

So, uhhh, I have a teensy bit of an awkward question. For anyone who might be an expert on this kind of stuff? Or anyone who can answer?

[logic would dictate that a broadcast through telepathy would mean forgoing any verbal tics that would specifically require the use of a mouth, but there's definitely a cough as if clearing one's throat coming from Ruby's end.]

I'm preeetty sure that suddenly waking up without remembering the last month or so is not normal in any sense of the word, but exactly how not normal is it here on the base? [at this point, Ruby's voice starts speeding up, sounding a little bit like she's starting to mildly panic.] 'Cause I'm pretty sure that just happened to me, and I know weird stuff happens around the base all the time and like we apparently have little nanobots inside of us from when we get here, but I'm still kind of freaked out? And I'd... definitely appreciate some answers, like if this is actually something that freaking out would be a normal response to, and not just me blowing stuff totally out of the water? And, just... yeah. I wanna go back to being normal. That'd be cool.

Thanks for hearing me out.

[she makes a noise that sounds a bit like exhaling a breath, like she was holding that all in for a while. she lets a second or two pass, then can't help but also think in a meek tone,]

Heh, "blowing stuff out of the water." Aquatic humor.
