I'm currently synthesising an all-around antibiotic based on the samples taken back from the Jellyshroom Cave. I'm going to be testing it on native and alien groups of tissue as soon as it's ready.

Research on the disease is continuing. It appears to be an advanced symbiosis between native bacteria and fungus. More samples will help me to work on a method of attack and cure.

In the meantime, I want blood and-or tissue samples from the crew. Infected or uninfected, new or old.


[ The telepathic message is blunt and to the point. Valentine doesn't see the point in beating around the bush or asking politely. Still, she adds the next message. It's not what could be considered the most sincere of tones. ]

[That was so insincere, Valentine. He sits down and then he... just sits for a moment. Because oh God. He shuts his eyes behind his shades.]

I can't tell which of us is less likely to bleed me to death right now.

[He's still dizzy. She is almost definitely still super sick. They're both going to die.]

[ She's almost glad to see him. The huff of laughter she gave made her head hurt, but at least she found humour in the sentiment. ]

Look at it this way: I burst a vein, at least it'll be faster.

[ The glare from the datapads was beginning to make her eyes and head hurt. She persevered and drew up Dirk's stats. ]

[ And by "a bit", she means less than a minute or so...the base is really small and she's been to the med bay before with Dr. Sanson (she's guessing that's where the lady is). ]

Loki has seen and heard Valentine around base over the months, but hasn't had the opportunity to talk to her. She wears a nurse uniform, sure, but he didn't think her pharmaceutical knowledge could run this deep... ]

Making antibiotics is a pretty technical process, isn't it? I didn't think we had anyone capable of doing it. I'm impressed.

[ A good, mostly human selection. Loki would rather not share his divine blood. ]

[Jake shows up but he peeks into the med bay rather than come in first. He doesn't want to get spooked by her again okay. That and it was a long journey here and he's ready to faint, so he needs to cling to the wall.]

[ Oh. Dirk's friend. Dirk's awfully sick looking friend.

Valentine, in an equal state of sickness, forces herself to get up and, firmly, escorted him to a chair to sit on. If she also sat a little forcefully, she assumed he was too out of it to care. ]

[ Her voice was a bit hoarse and definitely congested behind the mask. She took a steadying breath and opened her eyes. ]
