Kanaya mentioned something like that. I guess... the thing is, I think we'd call your lusus kind of your guardian and family, if it raised you. Because monsters are the things that are supposed to scare and eat you. Or they're the things people call other things because they don't understand who they really are.

So maybe they're monstrous, but they're not monsters, when they and you are important to each other, and not... eating each other.
