[ Everyone's busy with arrivals, but back in the base, there's a shock of electricity that visibly zaps through the waters. It happens once, twice, three times... and then stops. Odd, isn't it. Like seeing lightning zap through the waters briefly.

But then, no less than ten minutes later: a loud, tinny, sorrowful and yet very sexy and campy-sounding wail. It echoes from the hatch of the base, the departure bay, down the halls, and there's an accompanying smell to the noise. Crispy, fried, and fishy. Burned, yet oddly appetizing for some.

The wailing continues all the way to the kitchen area, where the 7' glambot dumps a huge armful of charred (or alive, but stunned) fish onto the ground while flamboyantly departing. Still wailing. ]

Valentine put her work down, sighed, and followed the wailing to its source. And the smell, too. Both appetising and un-appetising. Her stomach growled, reminding her that she hadn't had lunch yet.

[ Mettaton had cleaned the fish detritus off himself, and most of the smell. Now he wanted to feel better. And because he could do it, he would.

He went to find his little ghost, and put both hands around their large, semi-transparent middle. Only he could touch the ghost suddenly. Special magic and such. ]

[ They weren't surprised at being touched, honestly. Only one person could touch them without them making an absolute effort to be mostly physical.

So they lay down. ]

[ Without further ado, a robot put his fabulous face into a soft ghost tummy. Like a big pillow. ]

[ Napstablook put their little ghost numbs on Mettaton's head. Pep pep. Then they retracted them and lay back, looking at the ceiling. ]

Okay... well... just get up when you want to move.

[Kanaya comes rushing to the source of the wailing with rainbow drinker speed. AKA very, very, very, fast.]

Mettaton? Are you alright? Did something happen?

[ Poor Kanaya. She's smaller than he is - he's a big boy, so most people are - but he manages to elegantly drape himself on her and whine some more. ]

Regardless, Mettaton holds out his (not gloved, for now) fingers and wriggles them. ]

[ Because she was out in the ocean at that moment, Undyne gets quite the zap. She could hear Mettaton's wails even in the ocean, and knew immediately where those zaps came from. ]

HEY! WATCH WHAT YOU'RE DOING, YOU MELODRAMATIC TINCAN!

[ Speaking of tin can: his telepathy voice is very grating to listen to. Like a screechy modem trying to talk with overdramatic emotion, but it can't. ]

I'm TRYING to get this creature off me! Apologies, gorgeous, but some sacrifices must be made!

[ Jesus dick that's super annoying to listen to, like she didn't hate having peoples' voices in her head bad enough. She holds her head, feeling like it might explode. UGH. ]

Chara plays around with the idea of letting Mettaton go on his merry way. Instead, they follow after him and wait for his wailing to die down before speaking up.]

[ He turns on his sharp, high heeled feet and looks down. Way down. Down at a human that gives him pause. He blinks once, shiny perfect eyelashes sparkling ever so slightly with perfect MTT Brand After-Crying Tears (coming soon!). That's... not his favorite human.

Oh well! A shame! He resumes his after party for his pity party. ]

[For a brief second Chara's afraid Mettaton recognized them somehow. Napstablook was able to see them, after all. When his attitude comes back, they almost sigh in relief.]
