01 ♥ Arrival
9/30, laundry room [one response only!]
[Frisk remembers falling forward. They remember salt in their mouth and water pressing cold against their skin and the dark rising up to meet them. Now, though, they find themselves upside down and landing heavily on their stomach on something soft and warm. They're feeling pretty warm, themselves, actually, and not wet anymore. They feel around and find a hinge, so they push.
Frisk tumbles out of the dryer and onto the floor, bringing some of the clothes along with them.
Ah. This isn't a beach, is it?]
9/30, aquarium
[It looks like Frisk has found fish! A lot of fish. Some of them look like little manta rays, but the most prominent one has little tentacles and a face that seems to be smiling at them. When it approaches the tank, it takes Frisk a moment before they realize the fish is fist bumping.
Once they do realize, though, Frisk giggles and returns the motion. Once, twice, again, again... Frisk runs around the tank fist bumping in various places and watching the cute fish swim to meet them.]
9/30, safe shallows
[Frisk is going way too fast. They grabbed one of the sea glides, you see, and while they weren't entirely sure how to work it, they really wanted to try it. Maybe this wasn't the smartest idea, because not only are they only a novice swimmer, they're not used to moving through it so quickly. Wait, is that someone else?]
Look out!

laundry room?
Wait, who are we kidding? That kind of stuff happens all the time around here. Case in point: Frisk falling out of the dryer when Undyne opens it. She stands there, holding her basket full of wet clothes, and blinks. She's stunned. ]
... Frisk?

... Whatcha doin' in here? I don't think I've seen you before. Someone sort of like you, but... weird coincidence, I guess.
[ rose joins them by their side, crouching down to observe the fish, too. she doesn't usually care much about all the different kinds of fish and wildlife here, but as long as they're behind glass and not, in fact, man-eating, they can be kind of mesmerizing at times. ]
Seems like they like you!

Hey, lil' guy. Or gal. Or whatever! Fish. Fish works. Hey, lil' fish.
[ while rose is taking in the countless multicolored fish swimming around as she keeps her finger where it is, a rather bleak thought occurs to her. ]
You think they mind being trapped behind glass like this? I mean... They have each other, but they don't have their freedom. I'd take freedom any day, but do fish even think about these kinds of things, anyway? Probably not.
[ rose, don't start initiating a Deep Talk with a poor kid you literally just met two minutes ago. ]

It's different this time. When they pop into the aquarium they don't expect to see a familiar face. Chara blinks. Is that...?]
You haven't changed a bit.

I missed you. [It's not a lie, even if Chara can be a handful.]

[With anyone else they would've pulled away. They don't like being touched by anyone they don't consider a friend, but Frisk's earned the title a long time ago. The two of them have been through much and seen things no one else could even imagine. Their experiences have forged a bond Chara can't deny, much as they may protest.
Chara's grip on the book they're holding tightens. They aren't sure where to start. It's the first time they're actually meeting each other in the flesh.]
When did you get here?

9/30
[ Well, Napstablook was incoporeal, so they weren't in danger of crashing. The peepers and rabbitrays they'd had clustered around them, however, seemed to explode outwards in a flurry of motion when someone came barrelling towards them out of the blue. The peepers especially moved in a frenzy, with the lull Napstablook had coaxed them to shattering at the first sign of danger.
So when said shatterer of the peace came to a stop (or maybe a crash?) Napstablook approached with a kind of reproachful caution. ]
I spent a while getting them that close, you know...
[ ... Wait, huh? ]
... Oh, it's you. Frisk. Hi.
[ Don't let their unemotional response fool you, kid - they're happy to see you! ]
