[Kon's used to people being speechless at the sight of him so he just rolls with it, grinning and tossing the ball back to Kenma.]

I mean, guess that's true 'bout pretty much everything here, right? [He moves closer and holds out a hand to shake.]

'm Superboy but you can call me Kon.

Not exactly. We've always thought of different worlds as connected to each other, so when one is out of order it pulls in the others too.

Since things were pretty messed up where I'm from I'm trying to figure out if Iniidae is the source or a side effect.

[hatamon]

[Okay, terrible description.]

Patamon's more like... [An orange blob with wings and killer puppy eyes?] Well, come here.

[He waves a hand to signal Kon to follow him into the nearby observatory where Patamon's found a quiet spot to curl up and nap like a cat.]

He's a digimon. They evolve into more powerful forms when they need to fight.

According to what Mikleo and Sorey learned from the Sea Emperor herself, the green light is the planet's soul. That's my guess for what they're attached to, if it isn't leftover programming from when the ethically dubious scientific aliens first made them.

[hatamon]

Different place, same idea. That might say something bad about my luck.

[Islands sound so much better than more underwater exploring.]

Count me in. I'd like to see these islands.

[expulsions]

Not a bad thing to wonder. The planet sometimes acts pretty weird so it wouldn't be that big of a surprise if it was the cause of everything else. Besides, that could also explain how we all got here.

How messed up is messed up?

[expulsions]

I think I didn't think of that since it makes sense. [And a lot of things on this planet just...don't.] Mikleo told me he and Sorey reached the planet's soul once and that they might be able to try again. Worth a shot? If the soul is willing to talk to us we can maybe predict whatever's coming next.

[hatamon]

Rifts opening up between worlds without a real gate. Things crossing over in ways they wouldn't have been able to before. Ending up here right after that doesn't seem like a coincidence.

[expulsions]

I can see why you'd think so. A lot of us were brought to Iniidae in a ton of weird ways and none of them really match up. With things in your world, could they cross back to where they came from or was it a one-way connection?

[hatamon]

They could go back, but it depended on more rifts opening up. Sound familiar?

[splinten]

I would say it can't hurt, but that particular phrase of trite placation is misguidedly optimistic in this scenario.
It's still likely our best shot. I'd recommend trying it.

[expulsions]

Sort of similar to something that was happening where I'm from, but most of the things didn't want to go back and wouldn't stay there when we sent them. We had to physically fix it ourselves.

Here's a question. How'd you get to the base?

[expulsions]

It's all I can do. The ocean responds to me as it is, so the soul's the next step.
Also those two are sometimes weirdly optimistic about stuff, I think it's rubbing off.

[splinten]

If you think the planet has a better chance of listening to you, definitely pursue that.
Hope is a strangely contagious disease. Can't hold it against the carriers despite myself.

[puddinghair]

Super--? [ No wait he said to call him Kon. He catches the ball easily. ] Um... Kon. I'm Kenma.

I have a couple small things from home, but... Yeah, not many. [ He sort of hesitates at the handshake though, but after a moment shakes his hand. ] Nice to meet you.

[puddinghair]

You're cursed.

[ ... He's joking, but he's kind of short with his texts so it might be... Hard to tell......... ]

[expulsions]

Yeah, I've heard. Sometimes it's all some people have left. [Sometimes that's all Percy has left, anyway.] My powers work fine here but there's something about the way the ocean behaves with me sometimes, like it has a mind of its own. That's what I want to investigate and that's why I want to talk to its soul.

If this doesn't work then whatever, we tried. Anything in particular you can think to say to it?

[splinten]

That wouldn't surprise me. The impression I've got is that all of the planet has a soul. Or maybe it's better to say all of the planet is part of one soul, including the animals in a way. The ocean resisting you makes sense.
"Sorry about the SBAHJ crop circle. You're kinda being an ass though. We've shown ourselves pretty open to working with everything here as long as it doesn't want us dead."

I'm not used to it. And all of that makes sense but I have one question. What's SBAHJ supposed to be?

[hatamon]

I tried to follow a real gate to answer an emergency call, but it just led me to the Narcissus instead. Luckily Hotaru-chan was around to show me the way here.

[hatamon]

Maybe! But making the best of it is all we can do now.

Are you getting by okay so far?

[an excited hum comes from makoto, and after a moment of watching the other boy play, he slowly gets on his haunches to watch the gameplay better]

I wish I had mine with me. ...we got a gaming room, but nothing quite like a handheld.
