[So, someone walking down one of the hallways might find their path blocked by what is almost a literal pile of cats. There's a child none of them have seen before sitting in the middle of them, patting one of them and meowing at it. He does switch to speaking normally at times, though.]

Wow, you guys know everything about this place! So there isn't an attic, huh...where do you guys usually hide?

[He'll hiss in surprise once he notices anyone approaching, and leap to his feet, looking around for somewhere to run to.]

You saw nothing!

[It'll probably be easy to catch him before he runs, especially with all the cats blocking his way as well.]

[His attempt to escape through the ceiling is foiled by the lack of removable ceiling panels. So...he's kind of lying back in the pile of cats after that failed leap.]

...are these your cats? [He can talk about cats all day long. That's fine.]

They're more or less group cats. My best friend Roxy made them.

[He feels like he should approach this kid like you do? Which is to say: super carefully.

And also by letting them pretend everything graceless and stupid they do is okay.]

She...made them? Out of what? [He's going to pick up one of the cats and feel over it.] And she can maintain them in this form?

[The cat is fine? Maybe a mutant but fine and healthy. They take good care of the cats.]

She used their genetic material to clone them in different permutations. So 'out of what' would, I guess, be 'embryonic cells' which were then developed.

...cloning? [He stares for a moment.] She's not a mad scientist or anything, is she? The last one I met was quite a jerk. [He pauses.] Also he's dead now. [Cat-Eyed Boy had nothing to do with it, really, but why bring that fact up?]

If you kill my best friend, I will not be okay with it. [Flatly. Because murdering Roxy is not ok, ever?] She just really likes cats. She's one of the nicest people I know.

[Rainbow Drinker speed and reflexes would make it fairly easy for Kanaya to briskly walk over and casually pick him up, but that would be just plain rude. So instead, Kanaya's just going to reach down to pet a mutant cat. The glowing alien vampire saw nothing.]

But, it may be for the best that I saw something, as otherwise you would have to seek out someone else to explain everything.

[Well, her appearance is actually going to make him pause.]

The cats know...a lot. [He stares some more.] What kind of creature are you?

[She's so used to the stares of newbies by now.]

I'm a Troll. But the glowing is a result of me being a Rainbow Drinker. The closest equivalent you may be familiar with is a vampire.

We have blood bags in the Med Bay that I can get and the local wildlife tastes just fine. Also, I can survive perfectly fine without blood as long as I eat. I'll just be... very hungry.

[The constant hungering for blood is very annoying tbh.]

[At the "furry" comment, he hisses, looking quite sensitive about that comment.] I don't have any fur, as you can plainly see.

[ Nonon doesn't care about offending him and shakes her head. ]

Do you have the internet where you're from? You act like you want fur.

What is this "inter-net"? So what if I don't have fur? I can handle you just as well as any other nekomata!

That doesn't really explain how you can speak to them...

However if you needed knowledge about the base you could have simply came to one of us. There are several people here who are willing to help you adjust.

Well, cats have always been more willing to talk to me. I prefer that to screaming or fainting. [Or having rocks thrown at him, but he likes to talk big.]
