Closed | Journey Into The Void | sometime before and up to the 22nd

[They're under attack (they've been under attack) and they need solutions, answers, help in any form that they can get it. There is a constant thread of green light weaving between all of their questions, pointing them to what they just might need to solve this whole mess, but they need to get to the heart of it first. Literally, because it's sort of the planet's heart, somewhere in the dreamscape.

Deep diving into the dreamscape for an extended period of time is something they haven't done before, at least not intentionally, so they do take the time to prepare. With their bodies in the pods they should be safe from any warping attempts, and they can trust everyone in the base to look out for them while they're asleep. They don't know how long it will take them to find the green light they're searching for. But they can try to make sure that they find it before it's too late to count.

Even with adrenaline running high, it's easy to fall asleep in the pods. Sorey opens his eyes first, to see that the dreamscape is as serene as ever. There's a faint sound of the Void Song far, far off, and he tilts his head in that direction before turning around and counting heads.]

Are you guys good to go?

[He accompanied them to the pods to be sure but didn't go in his own; it isn't necessary for him. With help and practice, Dirk has gotten much better at waking up his splinters when he needs them. Once he sees them all safe inside, Dirk activates his second self.

His eyes open up to the ocean; he zones out on the pods. Dirk gives Sorey a thumbs up as affirmation.]

Metaphorical baggage is all packed up and good to go into the abyss.

[Okay, so, waking up in the ocean. That's about on par for the course for him and when he opens his eyes he also tilts his head in the direction of the song. Truthfully he's really wondering if they can stay asleep this long, but instead of voicing that concern he nods in response.]

Ready when you are.

[oneandmikleonly]

[stretches out, glancing over all of them in turn; as risky as this mission is, there's a hint of excitement in his expression. they're here, now. hopefully, solutions -- or at least more answers -- lie ahead.]

Let's get moving.

[Sorey's already off and swimming as soon as they all confirm that they're good to go--they can't exactly swim faster in the dreamscape, so there's no point in floating around when they've got work to do.]

Titania should be able to point us in the right direction, so if we run into her let's ask. Just listening to the Void Song might only get us so far.

[splinten]

I'm operating under the theory that, when in doubt, we grab the Void and swim down until something dream kills us.

[Wow Dirk is optimistic aren't you all glad to have him on this trip.]

[expulsions]

[He kicks off and swims along, easily moving through the dreamscape without thinking too hard about what he's doing.]

Been grabbing the Void a lot, Dirk? [But he grins anyway even if there's a touch of confusion to his face at what Sorey's said.] Who's Titania again?

[oneandmikleonly]

A motherly sort of whale creature. I don't know if she actually lives in the top reaches of the Void, but we haven't seen her anywhere else...

[for a moment, the shadows in the water near them seem to bend and ripple into an overlapping pair of images; Mikleo draws his breath in, a rush of bubbles, and they're gone.]

--sorry. But yeah, that's her.

[quirking a smile at the images, a little wistful]

She does her best to keep us out of trouble here, even when we go out of our way to find it.

[he steals a glance over at Dirk and adds,]

You can't really dream die here, unless someone has been really determined to try it and gotten different results? Grabbing the Void might be an idea to work with though...

[splinten]

No, I agree. Death is less of a risk than going mad from something beyond the bounds of human understanding.

[WHY IS THIS HIS IDEA OF HELPING]

[expulsions]

[He thinks nothing of the old man but how dare you play with my emotions like that. Anyway, since Percy doesn't know anything about it he brushes the image off after a curious noise, following along and also just sort of gawking at Mikleo and Sorey.]

Good thing we're all a little crazy already. [Considering they're all willingly here, that is.] Let's say we don't find whale-mom. What's our next step for picking a good direction when the Song stops, too?

Could be other creatures down there to ask. Our best bet would probably be to swim until we feel like we're falling asleep again, though -- that's what happened the first time round. Let's try not go more crazy, though.

[imsorey]

We can keep the craziness at a reasonable level. I mean, we didn't do anything crazy the last time we found the green light.

[he does look at Mikleo and Dirk for confirmation of that, though, making it more of a "we probably didn't do anything crazy" more than a certainty]

[splinten]

You mean aside from trying to find it in the first place.

[That definitely was crazy]

[expulsions]

Can we fall asleep when we're already asleep? I've never really thought about it. [Doot doot doot...] The green light's important. Do we know how we're going to get back out once we find it?

[oneandmikleonly]

We should be all right...it kicked us out last time, didn't it?

[looks to Sorey and Dirk for confirmation]

Unless it does something we didn't predict, or is feeling more hostile, but I hope not.

[not much time for second thoughts left, though; the scarred area around the Void is coming into sight. it's not as bad as it was before, but it's still covered in unpleasant twisting shadows.]

[imsorey]

[Sorey puts on a little burst of speed as they move towards the Void, only slowing when he sees a massive shadow shifting in the distance. it's hard to make out in the dim light, but it does appear to be Titania swimming towards them]

I was hoping it would kick us out again since it worked last time...but otherwise we should just need to wake up, right? And we might have the Void Song stuck in our heads for a few days.

[splinten]

If my other body is still awake, I'll get you out of the pods. If it drops unconscious then someone will notice and know to come get us.

[It's an advantage of the splintering; he can keep a foot in both worlds.]

[expulsions]

[His eyes widen as he zips through the water, looking up at the shadows above them.]

Let me guess. That's our whale-mom? [He starts to drift toward it, though looking for confirmation.] I just wanted to be sure. I don't like the idea of us getting trapped without a back-up and and back-up back-up.

[oneandmikleonly]

Good thing Dirk's here, then, I think a lot of people would get annoyed if we did that -- yeah, that's her!

[waving her down accordingly]

[imsorey]

[waving in greeting and positioning himself by the others when she extends a greeting in return and eyes them all curiously]

Long time no see, Titania! We brought some friends. And we came to ask for some help, if you can give it. We're looking for a way to the green light--think you can help us out?

[splinten]

[Dirk also gives a thumbs up HE HAS NO COMMENTS HERE skip him until further notice?]

[expulsions]

[Well he'll just...look up and watch Titania, too, staring for a moment before murmuring under his breath:]

Am I supposed to bow or something? [Someone please just get him to shut up so that our whale friend can help us out.]

[oneandmikleonly]

Bows look a little silly underwater, but we'd better introduce you.

[leaving it to Sorey to explain the situation to her; luckily, Titania doesn't seem to mind swimming and talking at the same time. the walls of the Void rise up around them, the light dimming; but the singing is a slightly stronger note in the background.]

[imsorey]

Right--Titania, this is Percy. He's a new face, at least this far into the dreamscape, he's actually been around for a while. --But, that's beside the point.

[He keeps it brief and explains the situation to her as they go; even when she drafts away to chase off nearby shadows Sorey keeps going, and she swims right back and keeps listening. the warpers aren't able to dive into the dreamscape so he takes a little extra time to try and describe them.]

...So, we're sort of hoping that we can get some answers this way, or work together to find a solution. Unless there's anything else we're looking for too?

[he looks as Percy as he adds on that last part, since it's his first time diving this deep into the dreamscape and he likely had the most questions]

Uh. Hi. [A wave at Titania instead, but he listens to Sorey carefully and nods along with what he says. When he sees his friend turn back to him he puts on a thoughtful expression.]

Drive back the warpers, talk to the soul, and learn more about the pulse if possible. [He doesn't even know if that's relevant, but the first two are his goal.] That's all I'd like to find out.
