flowers gleam and grow (open mingle)

[ Throughout the month, there will be a lot of searching, salvaging, and planting of flowers! Rapunzel and Hotaru want to make a beautiful flower field or garden on the new island part of the base!

Inside, there will be some planters with flowers potted to be transferred outside once they're considered stroong enough. Outside, wherever it's been cleared for them to plant, expect to see buds and flowers. Do you want to be a Disney princess? Do you want to help out? Are you escorting while seeds and flowers are being collected? Do you want to encourage or admire the flowers? Do you want to make friends with Snap Dragons? There are as many options as there are types of flowers!

Come and frolic! Turn the island into the backdrop of a Disney movie. ]

[the swipe doesn't bother him, and he wiggles a finger at the kitten, trying to get it to play a little]

I sure have seen that! But at least they're brave enough to try. I don't know if I could say the same thing if I was in their situation. Who knows, maybe having cats around is a good way to keep us humble.

[ The cat interprets that as Sorey wanting to fight? LET'S GO, HUMAN. A play fight commences. ]

Really? I'd think you'd try and try again until you succeeded. I don't know if cats keep us humble, but they do keep me on my toes. I haven't been so out of breath so often until lately.

[batting at the kitten a bit, but he pauses when she adds on her last sentence and looks back over to her.]

Just from running around, or are you not feeling well again? Remember to take it easy if you need to.

[the cat successfully bops him on the nose]

[ Hotaru giggles when the cat gets Sorey on the nose. ]

From running around. I wasn't allowed to do anything too... um, physical when I was younger or up until I got here really, so I don't have any kind of stamina built up. Chasing the cat all day has me worn out.

[ Her smile is sheepish. She tries to play with the cat's toe beans, much to his obvious dismay since he's still trying to get at Sorey. ]

Please don't worry too much. I have a lot of experience stopping when it gets too much for me.

[ Of course, a lot of that experience came from having no other choice because her body full on quit on her, but who needs to know those details? ]

[Sorey would like to know those details!!! But he doesn't, and he takes her at her word because she surely has no reason to fudge details.]

I can't help but worry a little regardless, but I know you can take care of yourself. A few cats are nothing too tough to handle if you know what you're getting into.

[ Oh, no, she feels a little guilty now. Sorey is Too Good. She hesitates before she admits: ]

It's... It's not as bad as it used to be. I used to have seizures all the time, and now I have them almost none of the time. They stopped after you helped me.

[ She raises the cat as if to show how much healthier she is. ]

I'll be able to handle him in no time. [ Pause. ] In due time.

[Hotaru is Too Good too; he looks genuinely touched that she told him that much when it's technically not his business anyways]

Well...you know that you can talk to us if you need help, still. Even I can be pretty bad at asking for help, but that's what friends are for. If you know enough to talk about it I think you know what you can and can't handle.

She hugs the cat closer to her chest, and he somehow doesn't protest this movement. ]

Thank you, Sorey. I know you'd always do your best to help anyone.... that's why I decided to tell you. [ She still hasn't told him the entire truth, but she's hoping it'll never be relevant again. ] I know I'm only 12, but... I'll always listen to you, too.

[Sailor Scouts are still pretty good, they save the world too and stuff!!]

Age doesn't have anything to do with it--at least not here, right? We're all pretty young. I know I can talk to you about anything.

[ Except Sailor Saturn is a world destroyer, not world saver?? She... tries.

Hotaru hides her face behind the cat, who is not having it. Hotaru pays him no mind because she's overcome by Sorey's sincerity. ]

I— guess you're right. A lot of you have the ability to do so much, and you're just a few years older. Thank you, Sorey.

[ That he says he could talk to her about anything disregarding age or anything else is one of the most touching things anyone could say to her.

She manages to keep her voice level, but if Sorey decides to look around Hotaru's cat hostage, she's teary-eyed.]

[he doesn't take the cat hostage, but even if he can't quite see her teary-eyed face he can still tell, a little. he places a hand on her head and gives her hair a little ruffle]

[ Oh, no. The hair ruffle makes Hotaru drop all pretense (and lower the cat). She sniffles, and well, there's no hiding the tears anymore. Thankfully, she's not that ugly of a crier. ]
