The Christmas Festivities take place over the course of the day, though there aren't a ton of games like on Halloween. Besides the base decorations people have been doing all month - including a tree the base is welcome to decorate together, though it's an alien tree - there's Christmas pancakes (...they're normal pancakes) and a bunch of gingerbread and sugar cookies to frost and then devour. There's also candy canes. Lunch is Christmas sandwiches (THEY'RE NORMAL SANDWICHES...but cut into christmas-y shapes) and dinner is some sort of bird meat and potatoes and etc. A fancy spread. Though you can do your own thing, those are all food-related options.

Activity-wise there's karaoke set to a bunch of holiday songs in the entertainment room or there's ice skating at the roller rink/ice skating rink. There will be constant music playing at the ice skating rink. There's also present opening/swapping throughout the day; Dave didn't give any direction as to when it should happen and figured people would do it whenever they wanted, so. There's also a christmas movie marathon occurring randomly throughout the day if you feel like joining in on that.

Near the christmas tree, by the way, is a chair for the OFFICIALLY SANCTIONED SANTA to sit in. There is a sign saying so. That Santa is apparently Asgore.

At night you may want to go on the ferris wheel near Lake Chiron, where the fair is going to be built! The ferris wheel is the only part that is built, but is complete and decorated with lights and bows. Apparently it has also been rigged so mistletoe might happen while you're riding it. But it also might not? So enjoy the view!

So in non-radiation-leaking news…[There’s a slight pause and then the splashing of water like Percy’s still in the ocean.] Staying away from the Kharaa sounded like a great idea and I might have found something else.

The place where the water flows below. I think I found it. [And for anyone who wasn’t part of the Grand Reef exploration:] When we went to explore the Grand Reef some of the fish kept mentioning something that attacked the Degasi crew and that one of them might’ve sunk to the water that flows below. Problem is I don’t know if that means one of the crew members or one of whatever attacked them.

Anyway, I’m going back. I didn’t get far enough to really explore down there but there’s a bunch of caves and waterfalls that need to be checked out. [A beat.] Annnd some other stuff.

[That’s not ominous at all.] The tunnels should be big enough to get a submarine down there if anybody wants to come with me. [And suddenly he seems a little more commanding.] I don’t know what we’re going to find down there but if you think you can hold your own, let me know. I want to go back soon.

[ Throughout the month, there will be a lot of searching, salvaging, and planting of flowers! Rapunzel and Hotaru want to make a beautiful flower field or garden on the new island part of the base!

Inside, there will be some planters with flowers potted to be transferred outside once they're considered stroong enough. Outside, wherever it's been cleared for them to plant, expect to see buds and flowers. Do you want to be a Disney princess? Do you want to help out? Are you escorting while seeds and flowers are being collected? Do you want to encourage or admire the flowers? Do you want to make friends with Snap Dragons? There are as many options as there are types of flowers!

Come and frolic! Turn the island into the backdrop of a Disney movie. ]

[ NEW MONTH, NEW US. Are you attempting to figure out ways to solve Naoko and Jenn's respective problems? Helping to make the base island nice and fancy? Or any other type of shenanigan that isn't listed above because I don't know your life and am not privy to every single bad idea to come across the crew? Well, it's time to make all of that happen here!

So it's the 31st of october (yes, this is future-dated) and guess what this is an all day Halloween extravaganza. The base is decked out to the best of everyone's abilities, which means. Lots of cobwebs? Lots of tacky skulls and shit because Ed Elric sure was asked to just alchemize whatever and his taste is Questionable? Disco ball bats flying around? Some skeleton robots everywhere, who may or may not be dancing? Yeah. There's also a shit ton of pumpkins, carved and uncarved. And so many snacks. All the snacks. As to what's going on that you might notice, the day's itinerary is as follows:

Morning Activities: If you haven't made a Halloween bucket/basket/bag/whatever, you can either get a premade one from Chihiro, or you can join in a crew of like-minded people in the cafeteria where there's just. A shit ton of art supplies and bags/buckets to be decorated. How many googly eyes can you fit on one bucket? Find out. Or don't. Once you get a carrying thing you will also get a candy stash supply! Everyone gets all 1 type of candy, so they have to go exchange it with other people to get All The Varieties. Because that's the weird exchange/trick-or-treat compromise Dave and Chihiro hit upon, so. You can obviously keep exchanging candies all day long for however long you want. Or you can horde your candy type and get frowned at, idk, the choice is yours alone?? There are also pumpkin-flavored pancakes shaped like pumpkins for breakfast should anyone want any of those?

Afternoon activities: Pumpkin carving, Halloween Bingo, and all the races (Mummy, Maze, and Candy) will all take place sometime in the afternoon; the scavenger hunt lists will also be distributed around lunchtime to anyone who wants to join in. The lists are mostly things Dave would find funny, although he went Easy on any kids who entered because he's a biased guy.

Evening activities: Test of courage (a walk down a HAUNTED!!! hallway with scary skeleton robots jumping out of you and all the peeled grape touching promised), apple bobbing because Dave though that was a good party activity???, scary story telling, and the how many candies are in this here jar game. This is also the Dance portion of the evening. It's. A ton of line dances which Dave has been offering lessons on throughout the day/week/whatever, or which the linedancing skeletons would be happy to teach you. There's also some couple-y dances but mostly it's all group dances that the kids can join in on and also with the cheesiest music possible. The monster mash plays like 15 times. There are lots of snacks here too, all Halloween themed.

Whenever activities: There should also be a horror game livestream happening with Dva, at some point. Also I believe Percy Jackson made a Halloween funhouse so have fun I guess! If I missed something just lmk on plurk or in pm to this journal.

Any and all victories for the contests will be accompanied with much fanfare and ridiculousness, but the costume contest takes the case because Dave will make you get up on stage and put on a 3d printed pumpkin hat and announce Kanaya Maryam as the Halloween Overlord. This title does not see to do much other than allow you to have a linedancing skeleton entourage, but whatever. Ava and Eve are pulled on stage at separate times as they are spotted and both given 3d printed pumpkin...tiaras? They are named Joint Halloween Princesses as they won second and third place together. This title also does not seem to do a lot but whatever.

Go nuts, kids.

[ it's the cries of the skylarks that get her the most. noise unsettles her, any sort of it - it puts her on edge, and even though it's hard to tell, homura is ready for just about anything to strike. from atop the tower sits the princess, a damsel in distress, unaware of the dangers below and -

just jokin'.

when homura realizes that an unconscious madoka isn't in her arms and she doesn't know where she is, there's only one thing she can focus on. she doesn't waste time in transforming, because she has no reason to. there's a flash of purple light from the tower, and then a loud sort thumping, as if several metal things have just been spat upon the ground.

but if you investigate, you'll find her. a girl in a cream colored school uniform, tiny and pale, with long dark hair. she looks like she's searching for something, among the skies, the barest hint of frustration etched into her features. she's on the ground, away from the tower, because she has no business there. not anymore.

several feet away, in the grass, you might notice something of her's that's been dropped. maybe it's a dark headband, or maybe it's a ring, or maybe it's a packet of 9mm ammunition. either way, it's probably her's. maybe. ]

It's October... That's new to me.

When I think about October, I remember there's a holiday centered around ghosts and things of that nature. I don't celebrate it, but I have seen it in foreign movies. :) Sometimes they sell candy and cakes themed after Halloween, I think it's called. Am I right? :?

I have a question. Something synonymous with things of that nature... it'd be a witch, wouldn't it?

What do you think of when you think of a witch? I'd like to hear your thoughts. :)

[ homura is almost fascinated by the concept of a mural for those missing. presumed dead, perhaps, until further notice. it's alien, and surely a bit uncomfortable, but she's here for a specific name. it's hard to read her expression; you would be forgiven if you thought it rather void of emotion, in fact. she doesn't show any of her frantic thoughts as she peers into the mural, though her fists are balled at her side.

eventually, homura speaks up. it's soft, airy - almost so lightly spoken that it gives the impression she's ill, or doesn't speak much at all. there's a demanding tone to her voice. she's small, but her back is straight and her head is held high. ]

[ she peers up, still searching. maybe it's only a trick of the light, but there's something in her eyes that reflect pain, a hesitant sort of gaze as she looks away. ] Is that... a name you can see?
