a. a graceful landing

[ if you are outside at the base island today, you might see something unusual. well, more unusual than normal? this place is weird. but up in the sky, you will see one redheaded teenager and a troll with robot legs just... flying on an anti-tank rifle, following one of URSULA's drones. they seem to both just be chatting, not paying any real attention

which is their downfall because it means that the girl (izetta) does not notice when she steers them right into a goddamn tree. they both die the end. no, they just both fall off the rifle and crash onto the ground. at least they weren't that high up! care to go check on them? ]

b. you saw nothing

[ if you were not around to witness tavros and izetta eat dirt, then you can catch them both wandering around the base, clearly new as they don't seem to know where they are going.

izetta is carrying her rifle and tavros for some reason has a hole in his shirt where his chest is and it also seems to be (bronze) bloodstained? how weird! maybe he hit that tree really hard. anyway, feel free to help them out, they are dumb teens. ]

Oh! That's easy to fix then. Kanaya san and Ichinose san can both make clothes. They look.nice and are comfortable too!

[ anyway so at some point when tavros isn't with izetta because i refuse to deal with that, he is going to bump into a familiar face! well, it's more like karkat is just entering the base and he sees tavros' from a distance. he mostly sees the horns, really.

there's a moment of excitement at seeing one of his non-asshole dead friends, which turns into a moment of fuck because is he even dead yet or is he like nepeta and comes from... before that is a thing. either way, karkat walks over to him in the hallway. ]

Nitram, you're kind of really late. I've been here for months.

It must be a little strange to suddenly find yourself here, but, it's not so bad!

There are definitely worse places to wake up in. There hasn't been a murder or anything yet!

[ He's completely distracted by admiring the ocean and all of the fish and other animals in it. The sound of footsteps doesn't catch his attention, but somebody saying his name does - he turns his head so fast he knocks one oversized horn against the glass and nearly dazes himself from the force of it. ]

Hey, Karkat. Uh.... Dave, let me know, about the timeline shenanigans, so maybe that has come into play, with, the discrepancies in our arrival times? [ Rubbing his horn ow ow ow. ]

[ he just snorts at tavros hitting the glass, making no real effort to check to see if he's okay because even after three years of apparent character development and chilling out, karkat is still an asshole. sorry, tavros.

also thank god dave explained that already. karkat is so tired of having to explain timeline bullshit, he isn't a time player that should not be his job?? ]

Sooo speaking of timeline shenanigans. What's the last thing you remember? Just so we're both on the same page here.

The machine is one of URSULA's drones. She's a machine who can think and feel, and she takes care of us here. This place is a different world from wherever you belong, probably. It has been for everyone else to arrive here so far.

[Just dropping that. She thinks it'll be easier on Izetta to get it at once tbh.]

[The Loftwing is friendly. Maybe that's his natural disposition, or maybe Tavros is just charming af to animals. Maybe both. Either way, the Loftwing immediately starts using his beak to groom Tavros's hair.]
