Kenma is pretty used to scary looking people, given that his team sometimes looks like delinquints, anyway. He jogs over to Rin to take the ball back. ]

I'm sorry. [ Okay it's a bit hard to toss up your own ball to set, but he's been doing pretty good at knocking down lined up water bottles. There's a row of them on their sides. Except that last one he just totally missed. ]

I don't mess up often.

[Rin flips the ball back, grinning. he doesn't seem that perturbed to almost just have gotten beaned; it's kind of exciting to see people actually playing sports around here, honestly]

That so? Then we could'a used you a month or two back, when we played volleyball out on the island to blow off some steam. I think the rule board we had to make is still around here somewhere...

[he glances along the sideboards of the small gym, making an "aha" kind of noise as he finds what he's looking for. he flips the board the around, and there's a bunch of rules on it like "NO LEVITATING" and "QUIT USING WEAPONS, JACKASS." clearly it was not a very conventional game]

[ Kenma catches it, and almost looks comforted to be holding onto the ball. Once it's been revealed, he looks at the rule board for a very long moment. ]

... If those rules had to be written down, I might not have been very useful. [ Also... Boy does it sound tiring to play with people who would need them. ]

[gnasher]

Trust me, I'd rather have more guys around who actually know the damn rules of the game.

[he gestures at the ball]

You any good?

[ although after a moment's thought: ] A little less without my team, though.

[for whatever reason, that makes Rin grin broadly. enjoy this scary set of teeth]

I don't mind subbing in for a while. Volleyball's a great full body workout.

I don't know how good it'll be with just the two of us.

[ actually how are they even going to play? Just like... passing back and forth over the net?? Kenma figures Rin doesn't want to just help him practice setting all day. ]
