[It's a new year! Well, by the fragile construct of calendar time we're creating on this planet, anyway.

Well, I will not deny that a bit of pain tolerance is required for beginners in sewing by hand. Thankfully I have my sewing machine, outdated as it may be.

[She shrugs.]

It is not for everyone though, as evidenced by some of the monstrosities that come out of the fabricator. Some people should not be given the power to simply create clothes with the push of a button.

Speaking of people, have you had any luck socializing?

[She definitely has to introduce him to Roxy.]

Fabricator...? Does it always make, um, monstrosities? [ because if not, couldn't everyone just make instant-clothes? and doesn't that negate the need for sewing?? not that he isn't grateful. ]

I'm, um... [ hrm. he shifts his weight uncomfortably. He's not great on the socializing front, but it's uncomfortable to admit that he's mostly just been keeping to himself. ]

No. It just seems that a large majority of this base lacks any sense of fashion.

[She's seriously considered breaking the thing, but it's been useful despite her disdain for it. She has a love hate relationship with it.... she's not jealous. She smiles understandingly at his fidgeting.]

I know a few people who you might be able to get along with. Have you met Roxy Lalonde yet?

[Roxy will finally have someone to appreciate video games with her.... though you run the risk of being adopted by the Homestucks and/or Striderlonde clan.]

[ he's in the 'whatever is comfortable' camp, himself. thank god for school uniforms so that he doesn't even have to think about it much. ]

[ Even though he appreciates the sentiment and thinks it's sweet, it's also a little scary. What if she's wrong and they don't get along? He does his best to ignore the feeling. ] That's... Nice of you. I haven't met them, no.

Roxy is a friend of mine who also enjoys video games. She is quite easy to get along with, so I doubt you will have any problems there.

[ Also the type who will drag Kenma out of his room to SOCIALIZE. Not that she's going to tell him that.]

Though she may be better known as one of the coders maintaining URSULA or as the one responsible for the massive mutated cat population on base.

Aside from socializing, have you found anything that has piqued your interest? You don't have to venture outside to contribute to our continued survival.
