[the aliens have gone. the portals have gone away. the Song resonates in the hearts of the base. their presence no longer threatens their fellows, and for that, Fi is...something like appreciative. the hows and whys could be solved in a while. knowing these people, they'd give up the information sooner rather than later, sharing it on the network.

the threat is gone. which means that the barrier that has kept them secure is no longer needed.

there is one very important task to do.

floating in the sky, high above the island, Fi reaches out in dreams to her soul, bright light and a voice descending to find her.]

Zelda. The danger has passed. It is time for you to rise...

[Zelda's soul has been at sleep. Even in the dreamscape, she has rested. Her power has poured into these protections, united with one cut from the cloth of her light and one whose strength sits as a shadow to it. She has rested, and all her thoughts were this.

That one calls out. A consciousness, both ancient and new, reaches out to it. The thought is inquiry. Wake...?]

Awaken. You have been successful.

[it is hard, not to fall back to old habits, to not address this one as Her Grace, for she knows it but knows it is not the same. the protections kept them secure, wrapped in light.

in the dreamscape, there is harmony. there is the life of the planet that radiates to one that looks for it. and to Fi, that means there is music, both the Song and music that comes unbidden, old songs and new. music to greet Zelda when her soul wakes.]

Thank you, my Fi. I'll be with you now.

[Zelda's eyes open, and crystal begins to crack.

(Yuri screams like a little baby.)

When she touches ground, she is stable for a moment. Then her feet begin to wobble.]

[guidance]

[like a blue bird, Fi flies down from the sky, going to where the crystal's location was. where it used to be. it's an instinct for her. she is not soon enough to prevent wobbling, and she does not have arms to hold out and stabilize, but she's there, smiling a tiny bit, and if Zelda needs to hold onto something steady, she can cling onto Fi. or something.]

[She does not cling to Fi to steady herself; she throws her arms around Fi and holds her close.]

Why do you thank me, Zelda? I only did as you would have wished.

[even as she says it, there is still that faint touch of something warmer that inhabits her smile in her words. is this that feeling closer to something like happiness? to see her awake and well?]

Isn't that reason enough?

[She doesn't let go of Fi. Fi is cool and smooth and real. She holds her close and knows she is no longer dreaming.]

Were you safe?

I was, and so were the others. The creatures could not cross - they attempted to lure some out, but we were safe. And they have departed. Whatever their purpose was, it is over.

[one of these days, Fi will understand how to perhaps return an embrace, for what reasons that might hold. if she can understand the spirit enough for that.]

Your rest, was it untroubled?

It was peaceful.

[She draws back, but she keeps her hands on Fi's shoulders. Her smile is warm and open.]
