[Hiccup finally made it to the base with Toothless in tow. He looks around the interior of the base, his survival kit pulled close to his chest, a few of the pieces from it resting on Toothless' back. Everything was so alien to him. Designs, smooth metal. No wood... The viking notices Toothless' unease and reaches a hand out to the black dragon's head.]

Easy bud. We'll find a room or something which we can call our own. [The dragon gurgles in protest, but he leans into Hiccup's comforting hand

Hiccup couldn't help but feel a little overwhelmed by all this. This was much more than what he expected. Everything looked so different from Berk.

He spots someone down the hallway and waves his arm. His metal leg taps against the floor as he rushes to get their attention.]

Ah, hello? Can I ask you a few questions?

okay this is kinda like terror mail, yeah? geez, and to think i almost scribbled on this thing!

anyways, i was wondering if anyone had any fishing supplies on hand? or even some fresh fish in general? my dragon and i arrived not too long ago, and toothless is getting a little cranky.

...are the fish here even safe to eat? i never considered that.

anything helps! and i guess i should introduce myself. im hiccup.

i've been talking to dirk, who is apparently a merman, and he said i have to pass his trials three for him to do me any favors.
i'm on the second one right now which is literally impossible.
maybe you'll have better luck, idk

so the only reason why you're doing these trials is because otherwise he won't do favors for you? what do these trials consist of? never knew merpeople did that...

all i wanted was for him to bring the alien seals to the base using his magical voice or singing powers w/e mermans do
first trial he asked me to challenge one of the swimmers we used to have to a swimming match.
second trial requires me to get a straight answer out of dave strider but L O L
