A Fortunate Arival
[Arriving on Base]
[He was vaguely aware of waking up inside a small capsule. If he was to describe it he would liken it to one of those escape pods you see in scifi films. He might have had more to describe if he hadn't been violently jerked out of one perceived reality to another. After all, it was a little hard to go from a rather unpleasant state to suddenly waking up in a small capsule and being attacked by some horrible sea monster.]
Oh what bad luck!
[But as soon as he said that much a laser fired out and monster got distracted going somewhere else. before he knew it something was shooting him out and directly towards the base. Though his legs were a little wobbly, and he definitely needed a moment to gather himself it didn't take too much effort to board. As soon as he walked in he smiled cheerfully.]
It was lucky after all!
[Med Bay]
[Despite a safe arrival he was not in a good state. Being stationary for the minimum of a month, the maximum of who even knows is hard on the body, especially Nagito's body. For the time being he was simply resting in one of the beds, though trying to get up every so often to move around. However, staying here was troubling him. He had taken measure of himself, it was someone else. A person that worried him.]
I guess my assumption was true then....
[Did that mean he failed? He had to know... he had to know if his plan had been successful, if he had saved them! Still... if he was here....
He lifted up his left arm and stared at the hand there. That hand that didn't belong. A woman's hand with red nails....]
This really is unlucky in the end.
[Library]
[It was later at night and Nagito had more or less made camp in the room. There wasn't anywhere else for him to go. Taking a private room didn't feel right, and he couldn't bare the thought of sharing it with others. However, he liked the idea of being where all the books in this place were. He could read them at leisure, and unless someone told him he couldn't stay... well, it was a free space, right?]

[She smiles warmly.]
Feel free to ask any questions you want about my species. I don't mind.

[Was this going to be a situation where strange conspiracy stories are actually true? Somehow her simple explanation and smile made it easy enough to accept. Who was he to argue, a lot could have happened and he just missed it.]
That's a rather diverse selection of people. It really does feel like I was throwing into a sci fi movie.
[Really, an underwater base, an AI, giant sea monsters, life pods. He felt a little embarrassed to have been shocked by non humans.]
I might have reached my limit for the day. I wonder if this is how a protagonist feels when they first enter another world to start the game.
Not that someone like me could ever be a protagonist... though it would be nice to try at it.
[He had to laugh. Though, he felt at ease now. Just go with it. He had worried too much about things today.]
I suppose... where did you come from might be a good place to start?
no subject
I don't know. Your clothes are tacky enough to qualify you as one. I mean really, shoes with two zippers on them?
[It's in a playful and joking tone she says this.]
As to where I come from, I was from Alternia before... things happened.
[Ominous past tense is ominous.]
no subject
[Was his taste really so bad?]
They were some sort of famous designer too.
[Alternia? Definitely nowhere he had ever heard of.]
I'm going to go out on a limb and assume this place is another planet... Alternia is also another planet. This is the only thing that would make sense right now.
no subject
[Even if your opinion sucks and Kanaya would gladly throw half of the thing you own into a bonfire with Rin's tiger print workout outfit.]
Anyway, that would be correct, Alternia was indeed another planet.
no subject
That brings a lot of... questions up to mind. I wasn't aware Earth had made contact with or had the ability to go to other planets.

no subject
[Well, he could figure it out later.]
It must be nice to have the people you care about with you though. Then you don't have to be alone in a strange place.
no subject
[Don't make her tell you about Homestuck Komaeda.]
But yes, it is quite nice to have them here. What about you? Do you have anyone here?
no subject
I...
[He was aware of who was here, now. But....]
No one at all. But then, trash like me wouldn't be expected to have any.
no subject
While that is unfortunate, it is no reason to beat yourself up over. You know what they say, one person's trash is another's treasure.
[Or at least that is what she thinks they say. She just read it in a book, so she has yet to confirm it's validity. But it sounds nice?]
no subject
[He still hadn't sorted out how he felt about all that.]
Though, sometimes things are just broken and need to be thrown away.
But! Please, tell me more about yourself. I've never met anyone from another planet before, and never expected to even!

[Kanaya puts an hand to her mouth in thought as she flips a page.]
Well, my name is Kanaya Maryam, I'm a jade blood, my strife specibus is a chainsaw, I like to sew clothes, I like reading, particularly rainbow drinker novels, and I lived at an oasis most of my life. What about you? I would like to know more about you as well.
no subject
Oh I'm rather boring. I lived alone, then went on a school trip then came here.
[It was true in the strictest sense.]
But an oasis sounds rather fun! What's it like living in one?
Oh, and my name is Nagito Komaeda.
no subject
[She gets a fond look on her face as she thinks back to the oasis.]
It was rather exciting I suppose. I always had my chainsaw on hand when I ventured outside of my hive to tend to my garden, as the desert had an infestation of zombies that rose at sunrise and roamed until sunset. Though my lusus kept me safe from them, I still had to be able to defend myself. I more or less cultivated the oasis from the ground up.
[Aaaaah yes,
hellheaven on Alternia.]no subject
[ Truly amazing! ]
It must have been nice. Sadly I didn't have anyone like that. At least not after being a small child.
no subject
You flatter me.
[Kanaya gets a more melancholy look on her face as she flips another page.]
But, yes, it was indeed quite nice. She died three years ago, but I still have fond memories of her. Mother Grubs who renounce breeding have a limited lifespan, so it was inevitable for her to die before me. Due to the violent nature of most of our race, Death is not uncommon on Alternia, so self sufficiency is something that happens rather quickly. Still, you have my condolences for what it is worth.
no subject
[He knew there were gardeners of that level though, but it wasn't as important if he never met them.]
You have my condolences as well, you sound like you were quite close.
no subject
[She smiles gratefully at Komaeda.]
Thank you, we were indeed. Sustaining it all would have been impossible without her.
no subject
[He smiles back brightly.]
The both of you sound truly impressive.
no subject
no subject
[With good reason.]
I also look forward to further interactions.

[Kanaya smiles, and goes back to her book. She'll respond to any conversational attempts made, though.]
