With how she wants to help and to protect? I agree. Though you're right, two URSULAs would be too many, if we can help it. Though any one name can belong to several people.

[ She wills her own silence with a sort of humming energy, thoughtfulness lending itself to emotion while she considers possibilities. ]

One of the others was suggesting Salacia. I was thinking even Cia-san might work... or maybe Otohime?

[ She doesn't know. What about a name for all on her own? ]

I think Mamori would also be a nice name. It's kind of related to the idea of being a protector.

Whatever she likes the sound of best, probably...? Though a protector's name would be very fitting...

[ she pauses, instead directing her thoughts toward the unnamed whale. who seems mystified by this whole process, but gracious in her acceptance of a form of address unique to her alone. ]

She's fine with both! So we can use either. It's like she has a bigger name now than if we just chose one word, you know?

[he bows to the newly named Salacia as well, just an inclination of his head under the water]

It's nice. Sounds more dignified.

I hope it's a name she grows to like. Mm... Mikleo. Do you like your name?

Um... it's hard to explain, but names are really important. Both the ones we're given, and the ones we give ourselves. So I hope she likes her name, like you like your name, and like I like mine. Because I don't want anyone to have that taken away from them.

[ which makes it a bizarre sentiment when she'd just given someone who had no need for names in the way they did a name, but; ]

And I hope she doesn't find it to be a burden one day.

That's fair enough. Names have a lot of power in my world, so that's -- actually a concern I understand well enough. We don't know how names affect the creatures here yet; they may not know either.
