[Sorey assumes Chara is joking, because why would that be serious!! So his tone is light when he replies.]

That's a little too long. We've got plenty of other things to get done outside of here still.

[They are totally, 100% serious about the suggestion. But it seems as though Sorey wants to dismiss it. Chara decides to push it not-so-gently.]

It's not as if we would suffer the loss of one person so greatly. If we manage such an arrangement, it'd be like killing two birds with one stone. We'd get more done in the waking and dreaming world.

I doubt you're going to find someone who wants to spend that much time here. Besides, this seems like the kind of task that works better if you have a bigger group of people focusing on it at once. And you'd get lonely all by yourself.

[Poor Sorey. He seems resolute in his decision. Chara can respect that. They giggle before dropping the subject.]

Then I suppose we'll have to do it the slow way. What a shame.

Slow and careful isn't so bad. At least the Emperor seems to be pretty patient no matter what we decide to do.

[Maybe it's easy to be patient when your race lives a ridiculously long time]

How long do you think it'd take?

[eying the whole thing with a frown. "a long time" isn't an answer he wants to give, so he tries to imagine how long it would take for them to finish.]

Judging from the size, and with everything else we've got going on, I'd imagine it'll take a month or two if we're consistently working on it.

[Chara gives a soft 'hmm' as they think about it. They still have a lot of questions about this whole situation. What will happen when they free the creature, whether it'll be able to tell their motley crew more about this strange planet. But that's for the future, not the present.]

Let's hope it has the patience as we fumble through this.
