Perhaps not, however! I'm sorry if I'm incorrect in my assumption; I'm a bit rusty when it comes to my languages these days. [ compared to someone like ada, at least, who excelled in their linguistic classes. she had been alright at it but practice was needed and… well…

You're right, it does! I mean, that's what it means, it's from the verb and everything... that's why I was thinking it might be good.

I'm glad I got that right! [ phew! for a second there, she felt a breath across her neck. no doubt from the memories of her rather strict linguistics professor. ] That is a good name… Strong and memorable, it has an important meaning to it…

Maybe she can have two names?

I think that'd be nice... I mean, when they're good names. She seems to be okay. I'll ask her, though!

[ Chihiro actually does ask at that point, eliciting some confusion on the Mamawhale's behalf... but acceptance, in spite of it all. Chihiro relaxes a fraction, glad that the suggestion wasn't one the large creature found offensive. ]

She doesn't understand, I don't think, but she's okay with us using both names. Thank you! Now she has a whole big name we can use when we talk with her.

That's great to hear! Thank you as well because we wouldn't have a big name for her in the first place if you hadn't suggested the others.

I must admit, I'm a little surprised to see you're coming along with us. [ realising how that could come across, she covers her mouth in embarrassment and tries to correct herself: ] I mean-! Because this isn't a typical mission. From my understanding at least.

What's a typical mission like? I thought, since this was in the dreamscape, it might be better... I don't have a lot of fighting I can do with weapons or anything impressive, but I am really good at concentrating. So here I can do those things and not worry so much about what I can't do.

Well… I'm not so sure myself. This is my first time too but, from what I understand, missions the others take usually consist of traveling and exploring. [ not… confronting creatures about what they're doing and how they're doing it. ]

But- That's a good skill for you to have while we're here. A lot is going on and Ada said the best we can do, if we're unsure of what to do, is to always keep our heads calm and be ready to pull back if… something occurs.

[ ada had a much more colourful way to describe that but eve is not repeating it around polite company. ]

We're expecting something may happen, aren't we?

[ Not here, swimming with Mamori-san, but once they reach the Dragon. ]

[ eve falls quiet after giving that, admittedly, cryptic answer. mostly because she's trying to figure out what else she can add to it that won't make it sound ominous or threatening. ] … Either answers or trouble, is what I believe may happen.

So be prepared for both, right?

[ It's what Chihiro pulls out of this, with her expression set but... okay with what she's heard. She knew it was going to be dangerous. She's not sure if she's super ready to face that, but she will regardless. ]

[ she nods in agreement, feeling emboldened.

seeing her steadfastness at the face of all this makes eve feel a bit braver. she'll never be bold as ada but she can try to be set in her own ways. ] And we need to help each other out as well. Make sure no one gets hurt or left behind.

[ she nods, accepting this as easily as she can. after all, it's what she believes herself. keeping people together. not leaving anyone behind. ]

No one will be left behind. We'll all work to make sure that stays true.

I'm Eveline. Please feel free to call me 'Eve' though. It's much easier.

[ Chihiro smiles in return, looking likewise mortified for a brief second or two. ]

It's okay! I didn't either! It's nice to meet you, Eveline-san. Or Eve-san, if you'd prefer to be called Eve-san! I'm Chihiro.

Feel free to just call me Eve-san if that's appropriate. Almost no one calls me Eveline these days. Is there anyway I should address you?

It's what most people here call me anyway.
