Either use the water and feel for it, or just swim around. Or both. We're working a bit blind here no matter what, and I want to know what we're shifting.

[the malevolence is enough to give Sorey pause, needing the focus to keep them together. but his next thought is purify, especially with spikes of malevolence like that.]

[Just judging from the fact that it's keeping her in, he'd assume not, anyway]

Maybe we can try to erase it as part of our alteration--? That might be more efficient than using purification.

[It would take less out of them, so he nods their head in response and focuses on the closest spike of malevolence to test out how much they can manage.]

[probably not a lot, as it turns out, though the rest of the cave seems to have more give than the spikes...]

[not as promising as they were hoping for, and it does deflate Sorey a bit; but he tells himself that they have time to find a better solution, and there's no need to rush despite wanting to.]

...At least we've got a better idea of what we can do now.
