Yes he decided to teach a robot to cook. This is a disaster since he can't cook either.]

I think you have to stir faster than that, LARA. [He's trying to encourage her in her soup making.]

[ dave...seems to be perfectly good at swimming, actually. he probably moves a little bit like dirk underwater simply due to spending time around dirk far too much and adopting some of his underwater strategies, but he's also just himself and lowkey so he's not really doing flips or anything. ]

Sure. My collection of weird corals and rocks can always stand to grow, and those are easiest to find on, you know, the bottom.

[Jade couldn't be happier to have an expedition with Jake, either! It always feels so nice to get out of the stuffy confines of the underwater base and get some fresh air.]

I haven't yet! I've been to Floater Island a few times, but this is my first time coming here. I just wish it were close enough to teleport straight to!

[She floats along, glad for god tier powers to keep her from tripping over any of the lush plantlife underfoot. She looks around, taking in as many details as possible.]

So what do you think? Are there any exciting plants you think we should investigate? I don't know what everybody's already identified!

Not too many people come out this way so there should be all sorts for you to play around with. I thought you'd like it.

[He's just glad she seems happy.]

We should probably be careful since there's some perilously poisonous things around too.

Do the poisonous things at least look poisonous? For instance...

[Jade stops in front of a tree with what appears to have purple bulbs growing along its side. She doesn't get close enough to touch it, but she gestures towards it.]

These look pretty dangerous! Are they?

Yep! That's poisonous! I remember grandma said something about that once... That prettier plants were more likely to be that way. Why is that?

[Not!Grandma Jade, in his opinion, must at least be as smart as his grandma was.]

Hm... I think the bright colors are there to warn other animals that they are poisonous. Because if they eat the plant not knowing its poisonous, then the plant dies anyways. So it works out for everybody if they look dangerous.

[It's been a while since Jade has really made an effort to study this kind of thing, but the explanation is easy enough to remember.]

It's good to know the same concept still applies! I guess that the things here must have evolved too?

I think that makes sense! If it isn't broken, why fix it? [That seems like a good reasoning.] I thought seeing some of the animals, they look really alien but familiar? Around these parts, there are these things called Noodle Swings, they have the weirdest mouths but they're like... monkey sloths.

Aww, they sound so cute!

[Jade has seen a few of the animals around Iniidae, but she hasn't gone out of her way to see all of them. She might need to seek out some Noodle Swings soon.]

That is weird, though! Do they look like hybrids? Could somebody have spliced them together, maybe, or do you think they are just naturally occurring monkey sloths?

[Her nose starts twitching a little bit - her doggy senses have picked up on something. She starts floating in that general direction as they talk, a little more back towards the shore, looking back over her shoulder to make sure Jake is following her.]

[Oh no that's so cute though. He loves it when her doggy senses do something. Jake is quick to follow her, clambering over any stray tree roots. He's curious even as he explains.]

Well, biology isn't my forte but I think they're naturally occurring? I hung around them and they're highly adapted to the trees in this area. But whatcha got tweaking your nose, Jade?

That sounds like they are naturally occurring then!

[She turns forward again, trying to focus more on the smell again. They're definitely getting closer.]

Um... I can't tell yet! It's something interesting, though. It's really sweet!

Maybe it's a flower? [He's keeping his eyes peele for anything different but he trusts Jade's doggy senses more than his normal human ones frankly.] We could even name something we found!

Yes! If we are the first ones to find it, then we also get to be the first ones to name it! That's how science works!

[The scent is getting stronger, and Jade begins to hone in on it. What she finds isn't a flower - if anything, it looks more like an upside-down spider with orange leaves sprouting from the tips of its legs. She gets in really close for a moment before abruptly pulling away - too close and the scent is very strong.]

[Jake claps excitedly.] Fucking applesauce and garters, you did it!

[It looks neat to him since it's new. And anything new is pretty cool? Jake steps closer, tilting his head.]

Do you think it's safe to pick?

It smells safe! I don't see any spines or thorns or any signs that it's dangerous. Still...

[She hesitates for a moment, thinking over the potential hazards of picking the plant if it actually isn't safe to pick. What's the worst that could happen?]

I do not think it would be heroic and just to die trying to pick a plant, do you?

Maybe not quite so fast. [She blurts it out, then immediately regrets it. Noooo, here she is. Just showing up in the kitchen out of nowhere to say that.

[Jake jumps but he smiles, managing not to come off as totally shy and only just a little shy.]

Hello again, miss! Are you a soup kinda gal?

[She smiles in return, after a moment's hesitation.]

I suppose I am? I can think of very few times where soup isn't welcome.

Well, I haven't had many types of soup so I just sort of... threw in a bunch of vegetables that I like! [He looks in the pot.] There's... tomatoes, potatoes, carrots and peppers. Do you think it will taste good?
