[ NEW MONTH, NEW US. Are you attempting to figure out ways to solve Naoko and Jenn's respective problems? Helping to make the base island nice and fancy? Or any other type of shenanigan that isn't listed above because I don't know your life and am not privy to every single bad idea to come across the crew? Well, it's time to make all of that happen here!

[ it turns out that homura is another time traveling magical girl. she came back in time to help her dad and mom, percy and annabeth. that's why this seems so familiar, percy. ]

I spend most of my time out in the water with one. [ heheh, time. anyway, she's comfortable - incredibly so. ]

[expulsions]

[Makes about as much sense as anything else in this canon. He lifts an eyebrow when she says that, though that's a good sign.]

Just checking. I don't need one and I can go pretty far away from the base. I wanted to make sure. [He looks down at his notebook though, a contemplative look then.]

I'd like to speak to some of the fish around the base, but we'll need to go further to really speak to the reapers themselves. Maybe in a few weeks until I get my notes together. [He's trying to come up with a semblance of a plan, help him.]

[reversing]

[ you don't want to know what she does all that time, tbh. the quirked brow will get you no explanation. ]

I'm familiar with their territory. I've gone slightly beyond the caves, to the monolith. [ HOMURA HAS LIKE... ZERO CHILL. she goes there to freeze time and relax from time to time. "relax" as in "hope madoka shows up soon" tbh ] I've yet to reach the mountain island but I do not believe it'll be difficult to do so. [ she just hasn't bothered that far... ]

[expulsions]

I haven't been out that far either. It makes sense for both of us to go together doesn't it? Besides getting the fish to cooperate there's some other stuff I'm looking for. Or people, I guess.

[reversing]

[ ...a beat, and then homura blinks, not unlike an owl. ]

I haven't found anyone out there yet. [ ...yet. ] But perhaps the fish have.

[expulsions]

[He's not sure what she's thinking but he has a list of goals in his head.] Remember what I told you a little while ago? About people showing up here all the time. We don't know how far some people get dropped off from the base, but also there are other bases on this planet. Other people have been here. Sorey told me a little about it. I want to see if there's anything or anyone we might be overlooking out there.

We might not find people we're looking for, but it's something.

[reversing]

[ man, that's not what she wants to do, but. it's not completely unnecessary and it could benefit her search for madoka, so. ]

I'll accompany you. [ if he's asking, that is. it's spoken softly, like perhaps she's just barely convinced of how useful this is. ] Traveling alone out there is dangerous.

[expulsions]

[Somehow he wouldn't be surprised to hear that. It's not entirely what he wants either but he wants answers. That's the most important thing.]

Okay. Together. [He nods as though he's confirming what he's already confirmed.] And how would you feel if other people came along? [Now he's just testing her to see where she draws the line.]

[reversing]

[ homura seems to consider his question for a moment - she gets what he's doing. he wants to see where she limits herself. ]

It's your project, in the end. I cannot tell you who or who not to bring.

[ unless it's herself, apparently. ]

Give me some time to talk to people and figure it out. Then we'll go. Maybe the first expedition will just be you and me. I'll get some advice from the reefbacks, too. They're the easiest to talk to.

[reversing]

[ you know, at this point, she could stand up and leave, but. instead she just blinks, and tilts her head lightly. ]

Perhaps it would be best to get information from those that wander their hunting ground. Are the reefbacks around them often? Knowing how they operate would be beneficial to predicting if our lives hang in the balance.

[ not that she sounds worried about this. ]

I think most of the fish are actually scared of them. Reefbacks are pretty gentle, I don't blame them for avoiding reapers. [He smiles though.] That's a pretty smart idea though. Like getting to know a neutral party before dealing with an enemy. There's a ton of reapers that hang out around the Aurora and some other parts of the ocean, but fish travel and news travels faster. It can't be that hard to ask around. I'll just need somebody who can help me write all of the information down when we get it.

[So yeah. Homura. He's assuming she's better at note-taking than he is.]
