pulse, and other, open mingle (12-7 to whenever)
[Wowee! We get hit with a pulse on the seventh! Isn't that fun! Also, a ship crashed, and baby it's cold inside. Some prompts.
A: Pulse: A pulse hit the planet! Life support went out, and that super sucks, but it will only last for an hour. Maybe more sucky: some or all of your powers may or may not have died! That's awkward. Are you disappointed you can't walk through walls now? Has nothing changed for you? Are you now a dead girl because you made a deal some aliens? Are you a sword? Have fun kids, and try not to hold a Class Trial.
B: Salvage: That sure was a ship that went down! URSULA identified it as the Narcissus which is apparently a human military ship so obviously this will be safe and no one is going to come across any type of trouble salvaging the ship. Maybe someone should text Naoko to tell her what's going on. Everything is fine.
C: Blanket-sharing meme: You know what you're here for.
D: ETC: Roxy is putting up mistletoe, there are flowers, people keep building stupid things. Do whatever!]
[ooc: OOC post here??]

Even hypothetically humans are pretty mortal.

I didn't say it was a realistic preference.

[not that that would make it any easier on someone.]
Are you afraid of that prospect--? Of waking up not remembering . . .
no subject
[talking about it forms an uncomfortable lump in his throat, and the words come out more defensive than he means them to. his amendment is softer, more open]
It's not hundreds of years worth of memories, but the memories I do have are important to me. If I woke up without any memories I doubt I would notice the difference. But having them right now makes me think it would be...kind of sad without them.
no subject
You would notice, too. You. . .he said you hang onto at least a little, didn't he? You hang onto something about what was most important to you.

[shifting and leaning up against the countertop, forcing himself to actually think about it. he wants to pick all of it, to make all of it important, but there are a few things that he can't help but treasure more than most.]
Probably.

[not that their world's system is particularly benevolent in any other way, though.]

[that doesn't make it suck any less though]
It would theoretically be possible to write everything down so that I can read about all of it, but it's not quite the same as remembering. It's...an alternative, at least.
no subject
...I imagine that's how most other people do it, making the transition.

[he doesn't sound completely won over by the idea, but it's better than nothing]

That might make it easier. I don't know if it's something you can prepare for, but...doing what you can must help.
no subject
I mean, we won't be the only ones -- I'm sure Lailah and the others would help...
no subject
I know. We're not in this alone. If I asked I'm sure they'd help out.

[handing down a spoon with some of the stew he's making in it, carefully]
Taste this for me?
no subject
Not bad for a first try! It's pretty good, actually.
no subject
...better than anything I come up with normally, for sure. Good, that at least makes for a nice change.

[adjusting the flavor with whatever seasonings he has to hand right now, then giving him another tasting spoonful]
no subject
[trying the second spoonful and confirming with a thumbs up]
Tastes good too.
