Because threats need to be followed through with. Empty threats are meaningless. The easiest way to give a shock is to have something waiting for someone. The easiest place to have something wait is in one's room. I did ask not to make it difficult, but he wanted to anyway.

No, I didn't. After all there was a warning and no one would be hurt and nothing of value would be damaged.

Because it involved a bomb and breaking into someone's room?

[He's guessing. No one has actually broken down why it was wrong, just that it was wrong and he shouldn't use explosives and should talk about the things he's going to do before he does them.]

I mean, yes, but... it's more than that. Threats like that aren't something you do if you're nice and like the person. Especially if they haven't done anything major.

I would think it would have been nicer to just tell me, especially since he didn't have any regard for Hinata kun's privacy in the first place. He probably would have shared my conversation as well.

I don't think so. Karkat might be a bit of a gossip but he's also tight-lipped on certain matters. If he hasn't shared it yet, it means he won't.

Well, now it doesn't matter if he does or not. But still. In the end, I feel this was definitely the way things had to go!

It seemed like a perfectly reasonable thing to do at the time, so waiting didn't seem like something necessary?

Though, this isn't the first time something seemed like a good idea at the time and then on reflection perhaps I went a little too far.

So I should have lowered it to something more like a flash bomb? Though it had already been about that as far as potential damage went.

A smoke bomb would probably be alright but a stink bomb is unacceptable! It would be tedious to get the smell out of things. It would make staying in the room unbearable for a time.
