In mysterious fathoms below; Closed-ish Mingle 12/12
[When Percy Jackson gets an idea, it's better just to let him do it even if it's probably a bad idea. Such an idea is how a large group of explorers wind up taking a submarine or two out toward the dunes, Percy swimming alongside them to lead them onward before diving down under the dunes. Let's do a little exploring where the water flows below, shall we?]
i.
[Deep under the dunes the group will find several waterfalls and caves to explore on their own. There's also the acid river he mentioned to a few people, all surrounded by tree-like plants in arches and pathways.
The eel is still there and even more agitated Percy brought friends this time. Do try to take care not to get electrocuted, okay?]
ii
[That's about where Percy stopped the first time, but with a crew now it's easier to keep going. Crew members may wish to follow the river northeast where they will all discover an unexpected and massive structure. It's easy to enter the docking area and check out the inside of the base through the dim lighting.
It's clear that it's different than anything else they've seen before. Crew members can explore the different floors but it's clear that every area has one thing in common. What will you do with these aquariums?]
iii
[Because really, the base itself has a lot to look at. Each aquarium houses weird little creatures suspended in a stasis mode. They're definitely not moving, but it appears the tanks can be moveable.
Aside from that, there are also some terminals that could use some attention. Any of our tech-inclined crew members can fiddle with it enough to bring up a video showing someone large tearing into the facility they're in, knocking in the walls until it settles to its current form.
But if you're not interested in weird aliens or weirder terminals, there's plenty to look at. An elevator-type opening appears to be the in-between of the floors. Be careful where you step though seeing how it'll flip you into Zero G.
Or you can explore to your heart's content. Who knows what else you'll find]

[What it says on the tin! Here is more information about the mission in-question with other information available. Have fun!]

Oh, fuckin' duh. Crystals came up in a Nostromo log. The one survivor who missed their dog. They talked about precursor bases trying to turn this planet into a mega cannon using the planet's weirdness. They mentioned crystal for powering that.

[ making a planet into a cannon. ]
Could be because goin' full Death Star is a dumbass idea, but. Would these be good for base power?

[URSULA has more movies for them! But he's thinking it through.]
Theoretically. We should do some tests on them first.
no subject
[ dave dirk JUST said they need to do tests ]
Because that shit gets annoying as fuck quick.

[Dave. Dave don't jump ahead.]

[ though he usually doesn't jump to asking naoko anything it's an option. ]

[ now he's just suggesting things he thinks would make a good story. ]

A precursor race with advanced technology that tragically died out before we could encounter them, presumably because of their own hubris.
We can name them Atlanteans.

I feel like we're letting people down on the naming things front. Aren't they supposed to be terrible jokes or named for people you know or whatever? Or like insults to opposing scientists. Not that we're scientists so the term I want here is just idiots who stumble upon shot by virtue of talent and or luck I guess? Not specifying which kind of luck is responsible because we have our fair share of both.

Loki really dropped the ball on Thisium and Thatium.
I did not bother to pick the ball up.

Time to pick it up and toss it through the net then, dude, [ by which dave probably does not mean like make an illegal play or fumble but his sports metaphors tend to be more disjointed and incorrect than any other sort of metaphor that comes out of his mouth, which is saying something ] pick a ref or a joke for our new alien species. Slam dunk it through the goalposts.
[ just stop using sports in conversation dave ]

[High bars are things Dirk likes to jump over. Or. Doesn't? He doesn't know sports either.]
R'lyehites for literature. Londeans for a friend and family, not to mention a roundabout reference to horrorterrors. Subcedents for a shitty joke. Pronces for another stupid joke. Scientific name Piscium fututores for an insult.
no subject
[ there was very little chance he wouldn't choose that option immediately upon it being said? ]
Two-way references are the best ones.
[ he picked it because of the lalondes only. ]
no subject
[Really.]
no subject
[ it's definitely true in this case though. the whole reason being > lalondes. ]
Should we plan to come back with everyone else to cart as many of these as we can back later? Sylladexes everyone else, I mean. Maybe Homerun, if she'd consent to ditch some of her weapons to hold other - yeah ok, just us from home, probably.
