A: The Narcissus

[Any hardworking souls who've decided to spend their post-holiday time scavenging the Narcissus have made a huge mistake--they're now stuck with newbies.

There's the sound of a crash from near the computer terminals, followed by some hushed bickering and a weirdly bright light that dims after a moment but doesn't entirely go away. Anyone who investigates will find Angemon standing guard and looking apprehensive while Takeru ineffectually holds his D-3 up to one of the computers like maybe that worldhopping trick will work again if he just keeps at it long enough. His hat's slightly askew, but he totally did not fall out of a computer and land on the floor in a heap like some kind of amateur just a minute ago, don't be silly.

When approached, Takeru turns around and smiles like this is all Completely Normal.]

Uh, hi. We're here to help?

B: Anywhere around the base

[One trip and a few basic explanations later... Takeru is taking this way too well. It helps that it's not his first alternate universe rodeo, and as far as 'stuck here until further notice' scenarios go, a guy could do a lot worse than a well-stocked high tech base with its own social network. (It's only even the second worst weird ocean world he's seen, which... counts for something, probably?)

With Patamon perched on his shoulder and chatting away, Takeru can be found following the map on his communicator around the base to check out the areas that seem important. He's more than happy to introduce himself to anyone he runs across.]

I'm Takeru Takaishi and this is Patamon. We're new here, so we're trying to meet everyone.

[Yeah, there's a network for that, but low-key assessing your new teammates under the guise of friendliness tends to be a bit trickier over text.]

So in non-radiation-leaking news…[There’s a slight pause and then the splashing of water like Percy’s still in the ocean.] Staying away from the Kharaa sounded like a great idea and I might have found something else.

The place where the water flows below. I think I found it. [And for anyone who wasn’t part of the Grand Reef exploration:] When we went to explore the Grand Reef some of the fish kept mentioning something that attacked the Degasi crew and that one of them might’ve sunk to the water that flows below. Problem is I don’t know if that means one of the crew members or one of whatever attacked them.

Anyway, I’m going back. I didn’t get far enough to really explore down there but there’s a bunch of caves and waterfalls that need to be checked out. [A beat.] Annnd some other stuff.

[That’s not ominous at all.] The tunnels should be big enough to get a submarine down there if anybody wants to come with me. [And suddenly he seems a little more commanding.] I don’t know what we’re going to find down there but if you think you can hold your own, let me know. I want to go back soon.

[ When the screen flickers to life the audience will have a nice view of an obviously frustrated girl who’s gripping onto a horn, if they happen to pay close enough attention. ] Oh, thank goodness, it’s working! Here, someone take this.

Ah - all right. [ A massive furry paw comes into view. Though tipped with claws, it is surprisingly gentle as it takes the little device out of the girl’s hands. It holds it upside down and facing away from its own body. ] Is this how we work these things? I’m awfully sorry, but I’m not terribly good at all this new-fangled tech you young ones are using…

[ Evidently it’s not, as the only view anyone is getting is the watery depths below them. Oh, and Asgore’s occasional kicking foot. It’s large and furry, too. Claws are also present there. ] Well, uhm… howdy! Can anyone hear us?

[ ... ]

I don’t think I’m doing this right. Do either of you…?

[A third voice chimes in]

Let me see--

[And then a third, gloved hand comes into view as it grabs the camera from the massive furry paw. Unfortunately, the owner of said hand obviously has no idea how this device works either, because. . . she grabs it by the camera lens. Which means everyone is treated to an up close and personal shot of her palm]

Hn. . . I'm afraid I'm going to be very little assistance with this matter because I'm not terribly familiar with spyrix technology either. Is this device supposed to aid in long distance communication. . .?

[The feed shifts around some more as the speaker toys with the device, showing brief flashes of water, water, more water-- okay so these people are definitely underwater. Fortunately, it also becomes evident that they're surrounded by an air bubble, so breathing isn't a problem!]

[ Both individuals would receive a long, exaggerated sigh as the original hand comes to view and swipes the device from the other girl’s hands. ] First, you’re holding it wrong, secondly.. Nevermind. [ She’s not going to explain everything, she’s far too irritated and instead she brings the device to show the face of the individual keeping them all breathing for now. ] Milla-san, we’ll be fine for the time being, correct?

So long as you keep using your magic.. Right?
[ There’s mild concern evident in her voice. ] Anyway, if anyone is listening we should be arriving soon and we’ll obviously be needing assistance. Please anticipate our arrival, although we are traveling slowly.

No offense.
[ That's completely directed towards the person she's gripping to before the feed cuts off. ]
