[It's the calm before the storm—or at least the not-quite-so-bad-weather before the storm. The winds are starting to pick up, the ocean is rolling, and all manner of sea creature is heading for cover to ride things out.

But at the base, there's still lots to do as usual. Whether it's getting ready to hunker down, goofing off, or making friends, there's never a dull moment under the sea! Have at it, and remember to check out the OOC planning/mission signups to see what's going on!]

All of them? I don't mind, but it might take a while.

You can tell me about some now, some later? I don't mind hearing about your friends whenever it's easiest.

That sounds like a fair trade-off.

[If she gets him started on all of them they'll be a while, but they still have things to get done and he knows better than to let himself get distracted too much. So he talks as they move stuff onto the transport.]

Alisha was the first human I met--she's a knight and a princess, and she's always doing what she can for her people. Everything she does is to help keep the peace and allow her kingdom to prosper, even in the face of adversity. But even though she's mindful of her position, she can show a softer side too. You can instantly tell she's happy when she smiles.

One of the other humans I'm close to is Rose. She's...well, really energetic and has her own way of doing things. It's pretty easy to get swept up in her pace. She has a strong sense of belief in everything she does, it's honestly amazing. I really admire it about her. It's hard, but she tries to help the world in her own way.

[ Hotaru follows suit, rifling for food that still looks good and placing it gently where it needs to go. She stops to look at Sorey every once in a while, though, and seeing his obvious affection for his friends warms her heart. ]

Alisha sounds terrific. [ There's awe in her voice. ] A knight princess sounds like a hero out of a book. Rose sounds great, too. I envy people with strong convictions. I can see you all make a great team.

[imsorey]

[He's glowing even as he finishes talking about them; it's obvious he holds them in high regard.]

They're pretty much the best! And I know I don't have to worry about things back home because they're there.

[superseding]

[ Sorey's trust in his friends is so buoyant. Hotaru can't help but think there's so much goodness in him. ]

You must give people so much hope.

[ She means him but also his friends. ]

[imsorey]

That's the idea.

[He can't be bashful about that, since it would make him quite happy if it was the case.]

But I hope it's more than that. If seeing me makes others want to try their best, and in turn inspire others, then we're all able to make the world a better place.

[ Hotaru can't handle this. She makes something like this face but prettier and a little more pleasant to look at.
