YOU KNOW, LIKE, "NYAH" ❀ TEXT
I'm disappointed to see a lack of diversity in our entertainment. Given the work we're doing, I thought there'd be a greater selection to choose from.
Therefore, I propose we use this space to bring URSULA's attention to any media she should have in her databases. We clearly can't accept whatever people suggest willy-nilly, so I will preside as a judge to help filter submissions.

Top 5 Animes of All Time (Not Up For Debate)Discuss the merits of your top five shows. Provide a short synopsis so I know exactly what I'm to judge.
1. Death Diary
2. Mew Mew Kissy Cutie 2
3. F8/Magical Future Dream
4. Hellchorus
5. Neon Elfen Tales: Nightmare Fall Reloaded

that's an anime right
my media knowledge is still very limited

Not quite.
"The Little Mermaid" is what we'd call an animation or a cartoon.
So, mermaids and love stories are your favorites?
no subject
i don't think i've consumed enough to really form a solid idea of my tastes yet
fish out of water stories and stories of two very different cultures coming together are always appealing though
are any of the ones on your list like that?

If stories about finding your footing in this cruel, awful world is your taste, then I'd highly suggest Neon Elfen Tales. There's a lot of controversy surrounding the character, Lacy Sorey-Ikeda, because fans believe she's ill-suited to be the protagonist.
On the contrary, I believe she's a perfect fit since she desires to be a human.
She's an outcast because she's an angel fallen from the Tenth Star of Nic E. Minj and her abilities cause humans to fear her.
Also, her human mother is part of the group who wants to use her powers to further their goals.

...i can see this show has a very complicated plot
wait so she's half human?
how is that even a thing
are there others or is she one of a kind, or

See, Lace begins the series believing she's human. Her memories were erased in the fall and she would have lived her life as an ordinary high school student, but her long-lost mother calls her to pilot the Angelic Destruction Machine, or ADOM, to fight the incoming threat of the other angels from Pandora's Dimension.
It's all a little overwhelming to a newcomer but once you reach the 10th episode, everything makes sense. Lace is an endearing character with realistic traits, ignoring her extraterrestrial origins.

i'm guessing her role as the fighter of an alien threat -- one that she has relation to, no less -- doesn't help her case any with humans either, even if that's not really logical? humans tend to fear what they're unfamiliar with overall.
this is absolutely fascinating

Lace's struggle to overcome her identity crisis ironically contributes to her human nature.
I'd tell you what she chooses in the end but...
That'd spoil the ending. And that'd be no fun.

we should have one even if she doesn't have that particular one
it seems like a good thing to do

Of course! It's only natural to have one after a conversation like this.
I'll be generous.
You can be my co-host and help arrange our screenings.

what would you need from me to arrange those though, this is new territory

[...actually that doesn't sound so bad]

It means you and I will be engaging in the ancient tradition of "binge-watching."
