[Although the month is drawing to a close, there's still plenty to do--such as clearing out the last few rabites, working on constructing portions of the new and improved base, sharing various information gleaned from the month's efforts, and make sure to have some downtime in between all of that. Getting a sun tan before fall fully sets in is important too!]

[He takes another swig of his drink and then flips the book open to chapter 1, reading it aloud for real the time. It's. A vampire AI romance novel that he is reading very dramatically, if slowly, because focusing on the words is a little hard.]

[leans irritably over Sorey's shoulder to read along...

he might or might not have picked it for the interspecies romance aspect, okay, it's played up more heavily than in some of the other selections]

[SOREY THINKS THEIR LOVE IS BEAUTIFUL. It takes a little while until the romance actually starts happening, of course, but the more he sips at his drink the more he gets into the story. And the more distracted he gets. He keeps pausing at the end of paragraphs to say things like "Aww, that's sweet!" and "I guess that's how they get blood?" and "They're going to end up together, right?"]

Mikleo gets an arm around his shoulders to steady him eventually, murmuring commentary both to give Sorey a sounding board and for Rose and Alisha's benefit; though he looks a little wry if Sorey starts skipping details due to being, you know. tipsy.]

[He manages to not skip over any details until the ~first kiss~ scene, which he somehow skips over entirely and starts on the next page, only to pause and frown when he recognizes that there's been a jump in information.]

Huh...did we miss something?

Yeah, the last four paragraphs.

[reaches over and turns the page back for him, helpfully]

[skimming over it before he starts reading it aloud, and then pausing his read over to shake Mikleo excitedly in an attempt to get his already-undivided attention.]

--Look, they kissed! Finally!

[SHAKEN BACK AND FORTH]

Yes--Sorey--you're getting too excited--

[imsorey]

It's worth being excited about!

[but he stops shaking Mikleo]

[oneandmikleonly]

[sighs in relief]

Then shake the book, not me!

That sort of lessens the dramatic effect of being excited over it.

[His tone of voice says he thinks that's silly, wow Mikleo]

Oh, you're going for dramatic effect now?

[imsorey]

It's a side effect of being excited! It's not half as fun if you don't share it with someone, right?

You kind of commandeered this one, Sorey.

Just be excited too...

[He is appeased, and settles back down, which involves leaning on Mikleo again. This is for Mikleo's benefit so that they can share the book between them and not because Sorey will slowly fall sideways if he is not propped up by someone.]

Good! I'm glad to see that it's working out between them. I was worried for a little while there, but it seems like they've made it past any of the obstacles that would keep them from being together.

Well, that's how these stories work, don't they? It wouldn't be much of a read if it were never in any doubt that they might not come together.

Yeah...it would be nice if they could just be happy from the start, though.

Then you'd be complaining about the lack of dramatic tension.
