So in non-radiation-leaking news…[There’s a slight pause and then the splashing of water like Percy’s still in the ocean.] Staying away from the Kharaa sounded like a great idea and I might have found something else.

The place where the water flows below. I think I found it. [And for anyone who wasn’t part of the Grand Reef exploration:] When we went to explore the Grand Reef some of the fish kept mentioning something that attacked the Degasi crew and that one of them might’ve sunk to the water that flows below. Problem is I don’t know if that means one of the crew members or one of whatever attacked them.

Anyway, I’m going back. I didn’t get far enough to really explore down there but there’s a bunch of caves and waterfalls that need to be checked out. [A beat.] Annnd some other stuff.

[That’s not ominous at all.] The tunnels should be big enough to get a submarine down there if anybody wants to come with me. [And suddenly he seems a little more commanding.] I don’t know what we’re going to find down there but if you think you can hold your own, let me know. I want to go back soon.

You probably haven't heard of me, but I'm Ladybug. I make it my job to protect Paris, and-- well, that counts for this place, too.

I've only been to Paris once. [He sounds a little apologetic because...look, he gets it. He gets how heroes are and he is absolutely taking her serious when she says its her job to protect the city. He has strong feelings about protecting his home turf, too.] I think a lot of us feel that way about this place since it's kind of a temporary home for us.

[Okay. Let's see how this goes.] So you're a hero, too, I'm guessing.

[In Paris or here, Ladybug is Ladybug. She'll protect the people around her, no matter where she is.]

[So she gets it. The one difference being that that the people here aren't prepared for Papillon. She is.]

You think so? [He doesn't mean to sound sarcastic, but studies have shown that the ocean is rude and even Percy's been stuck here for a few months now. He doesn't necessarily mind, but he's stuck nevertheless.] I'll keep that in mind, too.

[That's. Weirdly specific though.] A man in purple? I'll take a guess that that's bad. What kind of purple? [...that's important. The romans wear purple in their uniforms and he'd hate for this girl to attack one of his friends.]

I know so. Papillon can't keep us here forever.

[Because, clearly, he's behind Subnautica. If "Ladybug" caught Percy being sarcastic, she doesn't show it, and continues on with the same confidence as before.]

Dark purple. I haven't gotten a good look at him -- but really, if you notice anything strange at all, let me know. He has the power to use people's emotions against them.

But this Papillon guy doesn't sound like good news. How can he manipulate people like that? [What kind of powers does this weird dog-man have?]

The.... gods? [Listen, all Marinette knows about are the egyptian gods.] No, that's impossible.... they're from the ancient past.

[She should know, one of the akumatized victims tried to revive one!]

He's seriously bad news. He manipulates people with their emotions - once they're angry, he can corrupt them and give them super powers -- it's called akumatizing.

Are you? You're sure? [He sounds way too amused by that prospect, but okay.]

Isn't there any way his powers can be stripped from him? How can he corrupt people? Is he human?

Yes -- we need to take away the source of his power, the object that lets him akumatize people. [She didn't get a good look at the book, but she caught that much, at least.] Yes, he is. But he has powers. He hides himself very well, so I've never been able to get a glimpse at what's giving him his powers.
