[Patamon is a little confused by humans' fixation with petting him, but he smiles and seems to enjoy the attention all the same.

Takeru's opinion of Makoto shoots up about 500 points for being nice to his partner. The decision to not keep Patamon hidden here had been an impulsive one, but it seems like it was the right call.]

We're a team, so I'd be no good without him. What about you--are any of your friends here?

You'll figure it out. I've heard a lot of the equipment here has controls similar to games, so you might be more suited than you think.

[Rin flips the ball back, grinning. he doesn't seem that perturbed to almost just have gotten beaned; it's kind of exciting to see people actually playing sports around here, honestly]

That so? Then we could'a used you a month or two back, when we played volleyball out on the island to blow off some steam. I think the rule board we had to make is still around here somewhere...

[he glances along the sideboards of the small gym, making an "aha" kind of noise as he finds what he's looking for. he flips the board the around, and there's a bunch of rules on it like "NO LEVITATING" and "QUIT USING WEAPONS, JACKASS." clearly it was not a very conventional game]

I am Sailor Saturn, Soldier of Silence, Guardian of Life and Rebirth. I've been called a few other things as well, but it can be a mouthful.

Why is harder to say. [ Her serious but cagey demeanor diminishes a little, and the uncertainty that peeks through is purely Hotaru coming to the surface. ] It's hard to balance who I was with who I am now when what I am is a last resort.

[ Kenma catches it, and almost looks comforted to be holding onto the ball. Once it's been revealed, he looks at the rule board for a very long moment. ]

... If those rules had to be written down, I might not have been very useful. [ Also... Boy does it sound tiring to play with people who would need them. ]

i haven't heard of Tootsuki... but i'll take your word that it's an impressive place. are you hoping to cook competitively or start your own restaurant after school?

i eat really healthy, but also really heavy. my training burns a ton of calories. there's nothing wrong with meat in appropriate portions, and for special occasions.

getting a burger from an elite chef in training after months of crab potstickers sounds like a pretty special occasion to me!

Oh yeah, I'm fine. Believe it or not that's actually pretty mild compared to some of the other stuff that's happened back home. I don't remember any of it, but my girlfriend got somebody to pull some video footage for us.

There's always weird stuff happening on this planet, basically.

Weird is one thing, but our memories being affected like that is a lot harder to fight. Did she get anything useful from the video?

[In his defense, the fish he's frying is only slightly burned. Still totally edible!

Takeru has his music up too loud to notice anyone's walked in until Patamon's nervously tugging on his sleeve. He takes out his earbuds, turns his head, sees Erina's expression, and--oh. Did he leave a pan out of place somewhere?]

Nakiri-san. [When in doubt, pretend like you heard every word.] I'll clean everything up, don't worry.

[ Alisha can't help but blink in surprise when Erina snaps at her, brows furrowing in response. She hadn't meant to startle anyone, especially when she had only meant to check on the eggs. ]

... My apologies. It wasn't my intention to startle you.

[gnasher]

i'm in the mood to watch stuff get punched.

[he's not all romance all the time]

[ That's quite the titles, but Alisha offers a smile in appreciation all the same. ]

... I see. It's an honor to meet you, Sailor Saturn. [ Guardian of Life and Rebirth... She can't help but wonder what the entails. ]

I'd be happy to help you. A friend of Hotaru's is a friend of my own.

[godstongue]

[ fuck you dirk it's gonna take six character arcs for her to trust you now. ]

[ She's a little sympathetic. ]

You'd be correct. I've yet to see them myself but that doesn't mean I should let my guard down.

[ She seems relatively nice, her words genuine, so while Erina's features soften it's only just slightly. ]

Well you already did, but I appreciate and accept your apology. I'm presuming you're here because of the eggs?

[ aka "I don't fucking know a thing my guy", things are pretty confusing and hectic back home. She's just trying to get all of her friends to become second years with her, no time to have any independent thoughts of her future.

And even if she did her father probably has everything planned out. ]

Be ready to amazed then, Rin Matsuoka, I promise that your tongue has never tasted anything remotely close to what I'm able to create.

Ack! [ roderic comes into the room just as the cat dashes out of the room for their bid in freedom, startling the man enough to make him sidestep to give the furry one space.

talk about scatdaddling the heck out of a place.

the few questions he had about the cat are soon forgotten when he notices roxy on the couch. for a second, his face lights up a little bit, which is quite a lot for someone closed off as him, and he's about to say hi when he sees them. the scratches on her arms. ]

-You okay there? [ immediately he's concerned judging by the frown on his face and the worried look in his eyes as he makes his way over to the couch. ] Um… I'm no Doc but I can help you patch those up if you want.

[splinten]

Not a bad idea. Do you want me to set up a drone to patrol the area around here?

[Like he doesn't want them sneaking up on her? So]

[hatamon]

[He doesn't see the problem, but at least kills the heat to the stove before the fish ends up completely charred.]

Did you want some?

[splasher]

[makoto's laughing into his fist the second the other guy nearly jumps to his feet in excitement. he's pushing himself up, hands on his hips.]

Yeah, I don't mind. Follow me.

[he starts leading the way]

Hm. My name's Makoto, by the way. IT's nice to meet someone who likes video games too.
