Open Mingle! an informal event, or: massive sleepover

Evening, October 10

Following Hajime (Number 2)'s announcement, the Hajimes have worked together to take over the game room/rec room and dance floor. Hopefully no one had any dances or performances planned, because they've taken most of the spare pillows and blankets and hauled them in to cover the floor. And probably made some extra just for this event.

There are snacks! There's the game room! There's enough space to sleep and maybe get close to someone! It's a mingle for a sleepover. The Hajimes are hoping that people will feel better if they go to sleep knowing someone is close by, and maybe if people sleep in close enough proximity, they'll wake up in the dreamscape together and be able to ward off nightmares together. Who knows!

Go wild. But not too wild, there are Children on this base.

[ you can find hajime doing a bunch of different things for this sleepover! maybe you will spot her refilling the refreshments which basically consists of... mainly junk food, with a few healthier options for people who like that sort of thing??

or you might see her doing other important things like... making a hammock out of blankets... just because hammocks are fun? hajime has even brought in some stuffed animals that she made, in case anyone wants to snuggle with one? she's thoughtful. or maybe you can spot her doodling in a notebook while tucked underneath a blanket.

or... maybe you can come over when she is actually laying on the blankets to actually go to bed??? ISN'T THAT THE POINT OF THIS... idk i was too lazy to write out actual real different prompts. ]

[At some point, Hinata gave up on being a blanket monster and rolled closer to the other Hajime, peeking over her shoulder to see what she's doodling. And kind of absently wondering if the notebook is-- what had she named it? Carol?]

Hey. Having fun?

[Since that's part of the point of this whole get-together, making sure everyone has a good time, and maybe, just maybe, might be able to get through the nightmares together.]

[ she is drawing rhodey the land shark... it's actually a pretty good drawing too? she gave rhodey a big top hat. and alas, it isn't carol since hajime gives each of her notebooks a very specific purpose and drawings is not carol's. ]

Mmhm! This was a good idea, Number One.

Hah, I wouldn't have been able to do it without you.

[Cute Hajime just has a Way about her that he's certain makes people want to do what she says? And makes anything she says sound like a good idea.

He inches a little closer until his shoulder bumps against hers, and points to the drawing.]

If he's going to have a top hat, you should give him a monocle, too.

Ah! True, true, no respectable gentleman should be without a monocle...

[ she goes to rectify this grave oversight, adding the little monocle over one of his eyes. ]

Are you doing okay?

Hm?

[He glances toward her, resting his chin on his hand. Then he offers a one-shoulder shrug.]

About as well as can be expected, with these nightmares still going on... What about you?

I feel much better now!

[ not that she ever said there was a problem to begin with but. now hinata knows she feels better now? so that's a thing. ]

She really isn't the type to tell him her problems, is she... he huffs a quiet laugh through his nose and shifts a little closer, carefully letting his head rest against her shoulder.]

I'm glad to hear it. If it helps even one person... I think it's worth it.

I think it's probably helping more than just one. We can make memories, at least!

[ that is not the point of this sleepover at all. why is everyone treating it like a normal sleepover.

she starts to doodle something else on the page... if hinata looks at it, he will see that it looks familiar. because it's him. she's drawing him. ]

Yeah, definitely. Creating a bond with everyone is important.

[That does look familiar... yep, that's him. And it brings a little bit of a silly smile to his face, because he doesn't think anyone's ever tried to draw him before.]

Are you going to put a top hat on me, too?

Unless you have a preference for any other kind of hat!

[ a bowler, perhaps. or maybe a cowboy? since cowboys are cool, hinata....

she makes sure he looks happy in the picture. ]

[He laughs.]

You can pick whatever you want. I don't really wear hats all that often. They mess up my hair...

[Also there's the (not so) real danger that his ahoge might pierce any kind of fabric?]

[ in that case, she draws a beret on him. it is angled in a way that it won't get stabbed. ]

Do you have any siblings?

[ why is she so hyper focused on this question? (it's magnus' fault) ]

[He felt a need to declare this, because, what if she went hunting him down if she didn't see him?]

What am I suppose to do now exactly?

[He had never spent the night at anyone's house, or in a group. His closest experience was maybe being chained up and left in a public building by himself. No that wasn't really similar at all.]

[ that isn't similar in the slightest, but that's okay. now he can have non-chained up fun in this sleepover! because this is kid friendly!

in any case, hajime is going to hand him a plate of cookies. they're chocolate chip and very warm and gooey. ]

You relax and have fun and watch as no one dies!

[Was is similar if "friends" did it to you?]

I didn't exactly think anyone was going to die.

[He eyes the cookies, he didn't really like sweet things, but he wasn't really sure how to say it. It would see like he was complaining, wouldn't it?]

also komaeda just tell her, this is why she also brought other alternatives to sweets... ]

Hm? You definitely made it sound like you did!

[As if he could do anything straight forward. Instead he just sort of holds onto it, he can give it to someone else.]

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if someone did die. Maybe, though, I don't think anything good will happen to me so perhaps that's not a real worry.

You could have fun. That would be something good.

That would be the worst thing. That would definitely be the worst thing.... That would be lucky and I don't want to be lucky right now.

[Last time he asked for a change in food given to him people got mad at him, so he's not sure if he should do that again, especially when he's not sure if Hajime is mad at him or not. He thinks maybe she is annoyed.]

[ JOKE'S ON YOU, KOMAEDA.... well, there is no joke. but if hajime is annoyed it would be a lot more obvious because she does not hide it. ]

Why would it be the worst thing?

[For all of his excellent observation abilities judging peoples moods is not one of them.]

Because something might happen to pay for it.

[ ... hinata literally never explained any of this to her. ]

[ Well, it was a strange thing to explain. ]

My luck, it has a price. The more lucky something is the more unlucky it is for everyone else. For example, if I got something I really wanted but never expected ever, something that would be so lucky it would be near impossible, someone might die.
