[What it says on the tin: got a July mission you want to play out? Feel free to thread it in here! Please note in the subject header what mission it is and if it's open to all or closed to a smaller group. If you want to make your own separate log for a mission, that's fine too, of course!

Ouch! Hey! That wasn't catching at all!

[Now he will be fussing at him. What was that about. Jeez. Don't think he won't float you in retribution. Except actually he's just going to laugh despite himself.]

How unkind.

[octoroom]

It wasn't that hard of a hit.

[YOU'LL SURVIVE, is the unspoken sentiment as Fukami glances at him sideways, narrowly, his eyebrows arched. Gosh. What did he think he was going to get when he teased like that!

Winking at him. Jeez.]

[undyingly]

I'm very delicate, you know.

[Shiro fusses out the lie with as huffy a mental voice as he can manage. But the truth of the matter is, well, he isn't delicate at all. Not even a little bit.]

[octoroom]

I'm certain.

[DRYLY. As though he believes that one. Shifting, he points with his tentacle at the earth wall-- back to work, Shiro!!]

[undyingly]

It was nicer when you caught me. Really chivalrous and everything.

[Shiro grins at him before turning back to work. Yes, yes. Work. Work is important. He'll concentrate on work.

But then maybe they can have a little fun with this thing just saying.]

[octoroom]

You should know by now that I am not particularly chivalrous, Shiro.

[Still with a dry mental voice, but Shiro might be able to see the way his lips twitch. He doesn't need a breather or anything, though it would be useful to have to hide his expressions behind.

It's not quite a smile. He's not going to smile, got it? Punk.]

[undyingly]

Should I? Well. Maybe I'm remembering with too much positivity again.

[Shiro sighs mentally. Don't think he doesn't notice that hint of a smile. He totally sees it, and he'll take it as a small victory. Getting Fukami to smile is always something of a win, even if it's only the barest fraction of a scintilla of a smile.]

[octoroom]

Now you're remembering me with that positivity?

[Fukami shakes his head at him, his lips still twitching. They soften into the faintest of smiles, one that'll disappear soon enough once he puts his mind back on what they're supposed to be doing--work! It really is strange to watch earth just appear out of nothing...]

[undyingly]

Of course. How could I remember you any other way?

[Work work work. He's got the hang of this now. It's good to feel accomplished like this. Like he's contributing something.]

[octoroom]

[...Well. Now he's falling quiet, as though somewhat flustered by the words.]

Perhaps in a less biased way. [Now he feels almost bad for smacking him for his teasing. Only almost, though. A tentacle moves through the water, lightly resting against Shiro's back.]

[undyingly]

Who says it's biased? It's just how I see it.

[He informs him before firing another shot from the gun, humming to himself in approval, glancing back at Fukami when that tentacle settles against his back. It's kind of nice, is all, how comfortable he feels with this guy. He's lucky he met him.]

[octoroom]

I wonder.

[But, relaxing the longer he's with Shiro, he nevertheless pays attention to how the wall is being built up.] ...next time, it would be better if we both had one of the guns.

[Then they could be HYPER EFFICIENT. In other words: congratulations, Shiro! You've been recruited as his assistant!]
