URSULA's voice crackles on over all forms of communication, radio and telepathic. In both, her transmission seems unstable. "Warning. Urgent. Attention required. I really mean it. Please evacuate the water. If impossible, hide immediately. The blast will be incoming from the east. The Aurora has reached critical status. Dark Matter engines failing. Core system failure impending, counting down in ten... nine... eight... sev-- sev-- five... four... three... tw--"
Should any be above the surface in the line of sight of the Aurora, they will witness the fires of explosion. The outer shell pops and bursts into flame, billowing out, a deafening roar that cracks with a heavy wave buoying through the water. Shocks of steam fill the air, scalding what surfaces they burst over. A rain begins.
In some ways, it is the safest place to witness.
Below, the explosion ricochets. A shock blasts through the water, then another, sending wave after wave pushing seaweed flat down, knocking animals about, scattering and rocking sand. Pulses of burning hot bubbles shake through a radius, fizzling out only after it sears and disperses to ravage what rises above. Cold water filaments web through the pods of heat. The ocean shudders.
Even as far as the base, the Aurora’s explosion makes itself known. The whole structure shudders on its supports, loose items shaking and falling, rushes of white and dark water bursting past the observatory windows in one wave, another, a third, and in one empty observatory, a crack breaks through the glass, forcing URSULA to seal off the area temporarily.
Rain still falls above the Aurora’s wreckage. The last of the fires will be doused. When the waters become cool again, new sea life will move in to make food of the their dead brethren.
A strange keening shivers in the air at the edge of hearing.
[As a note, direct any questions regarding this event to the March OOC Post! And a special note for Korosensei, go for it ♥]
Right! So let's get you to bed, and I'll go get water. And anything else you need.
[Shiro will play nurse until he's sure Fukami is all settled in and resting and on his way to recovery. So he leads him to the mentioned room, glad that it's not far, over to where he spots Fukami's stuff.
There.] Just... lie down okay? Put your feet up and... and your tentacles up too! Maybe especially those.
...You needn't worry too much about me after this. I will heal quickly.
[Because he's an octopus. And octopi are amazing. He allows Shiro to lead him for now, slowly sinking down onto his mattress. He realises too late he left his coat and scarf in the other room, feeling bare without them.
[And Shiro will make sure that Fukami is settled. He takes the time to tuck his blanket over him before nodding.] Don't move a muscle. I'll be right back!
[With water. ...and Fukami's coat and scarf, okay. He will totally remember them.]
[...He just got blanketed. Fukami looks up at the ceiling with a frown. He absolutely moves a muscle, to push down the blanket slightly since it's not cold in the base. Actually, it's a little warmer than usual.
Sorry Shiro. He totally disobeyed not even within a minute.
However, despite his wishes, his eyelids are beginning to sag as exhaustion begins to take over.]
But Shiro will be back in no time, pulling up short when he sees a dozing Fukami. Ah. Well. He'll be quiet then, folding his coat and scarf and tucking them beside his head on the mattress and setting the water container he filled down within easy reach.]
You moved so many muscles... [He fusses in a whisper, but smiles anyway.]
Rest, okay? [He murmurs quietly. And for his part, Shiro will go see if there's something he can do to help.]
[Fukami's answer is barely there, voice a low grunt, though an eyelid does open briefly to show a slit of teal. Still awake. He heard and oh hey Shiro brought water and clothes. However, his eye closes again shortly after.

...Yes. Some water would be.
[Fukami pauses.] My bed should be in the first room down past this. [One of the free rooms, so to speak.]

Well. He's probably out for a little while now.]
