[It's the calm before the storm—or at least the not-quite-so-bad-weather before the storm. The winds are starting to pick up, the ocean is rolling, and all manner of sea creature is heading for cover to ride things out.

Oh, you can cook? That's good to know.

[Passing over the containers to Yuri, and digging out a few of the ingredients that they can use for a meal so they aren't taking up space.]

It was necessary back home. Seems it's the same here.

[ there are probably people here that might have flynn's level of skill when it comes to cooking. let's make sure they don't cook.

he takes the containers and shifts a few things around so they fit. barely. he'll take some ingredients out and pass them over to sorey. ]

[Taking all of the ingredients as instructed and putting them out of the way, where they won't be knocked over on accident.]

It's necessary, but not everyone has a knack for it. We help each other out when we can.

[Most of the people here have Flynn's level of skill when it comes to cooking. Yuri should be concerned.]

[ it is concerning which is why so far he's made his own food. there's no way he's touching some of the things he has seen in the kitchen. ]

I've been leaving my leftovers in the kitchen for anyone to eat. Bet some of those who've eaten it have done something I can't.

[ like anything to do with the technology. that was never really his thing. ]

I'd guess so. We could probably use some basic cooking lessons for everyone when things settle down though.

Not a bad idea. I know there's a few out there who are at least interesting in trying to learn.

I could probably use a refresher myself.

[Mikleo spoils them all by feeding them...even though there isn't much cooking involved in that either.]

It would spread out the cooking duties a little more that way, if everyone pitched in every now and then.

Why don't you ask Mikleo for a refresher?

[ he hasn't seen mikleo cook but loki did mention him being a good cook. so c'mon sorey stop being spoiled. ]

Yeah. I'd give some of us a chance to do something else with our time.

I'll just pick it up as we go. The best way to re-learn is to practice!

[ he'll motion towards the canned food and other foods like vegetables they pulled aside for the meal. first lesson of the day! ]

I can't think of anything better than that under pressure!

[His sigh is equal levels of dramatic and rueful, but he does seem eager to learn.]

Heh. Well, it's an easy recipe. So it'll do.

[ at least he's eager to learn. otherwise yuri likely wouldn't bother. ]

What's the fun in that? I'd like to see how long it'll take you to figure out what it could be.

[But since Yuri is so straightforward about it he isn't even offended. He gives it one last shot at a guess.]

It still seems like a stew to me, but you could also make a stir fry with all of this.

Stir fry, huh? Not bad. That was actually part of the plan.

Now you get to choose what we make with the stir fry.

[stir fry is just stew without the broth!!]

You mean with the vegetables? Fish is always good.

Fish? Guess since we've had variety lately it actually sounds mildly appetizing.

Alright. Go grab some fish.

It's not that bad, at least they all taste different.

[He digs the one that tastes like spicy salmon out of a freezer, though.]

[ yuri watches him and... does he really want that fish for dinner um ]

Is that really the fish you want to make this stir fry with?

[ think really hard about this sorey ]

Why not? It's got a good flavor. It'd probably go good with the rest of the dish.

[he sees nothing wrong with this]

Only if you're careful. Put too much fish into the dish and it's spicy flavour will overwhelm everything else.

[ so are you willing to take that risk sorey ]

Then we'll just put a little bit in! Problem solved.

[Or they can feed it to someone who likes spicy food. There's no losing here.]
