Um, hi! I'm new? I mean, that's not a question, I'm new, and! I was wondering if anyone is really good at braiding hair? I kinda can't do it all on my own. Or not...quickly? And it's, um, there are so many little passages and stuff around here it's kind of a pain to just leave it down soooooooo. I can cook you something in exchange?

[ a beat. ]

Oh! I forgot. I'm Rapunzel? That's. Also not a question oh my gosh I can't do this anyway even if you can't braid I'm in the kitchen? Making cake and cookies? If you want any? It's kiiiiiind of a holiday for me. A little bit. It's my birthday! So. If you want to drop by that'd be great! If not, that's. Also great? Yeah!! So I should just. Turn...this off now.

09/28 base kitchen

[ like she said, rapunzel can pretty much be found in the kitchen all day, just. reorganizing stuff (no one seems to mind? it should be okay?) and chopping and drying the spices magnus chase found like in the tdm and also just. baking cake. lots of cake. and cookies. they have eggs and she can make a ton of shit from scratch okay she's got this even if it's mostly fruit flavored cakes but hey we have cocoa so. she can do chocolate stuff?

she's also probably singing or humming to herself and she'll jump just, super high whenever anyone comes in. ]

Oh! Oh, uh, sorry, you scared me! Not that you're scary. I mean, unless you want to be scary? I'm not sure why someone would want to be scary - er, anyway, hi! Did you want something to eat? I have...lots.

09/27 | locked to korra

[ the last thing she remembers is the ugly duckling and the tunnels underneath, and rapunzel can't recall when she fell asleep. but she must have, because she wakes up on a...mountain. so. that's a thing. she also has to spend some time negotiating with the birdogs who tried to make a nest of her hair, but luckily her disney princess powers make her super great with animals. so that's not actually that difficult.

the mountain climbing is also...well, it's more difficult than befriending birdogs, but they kind of lead her down and so she follows along, all her hair bundled up in her arms, although she's probably getting cuts on her feet and legs and yeah this is just. all around a dumb thing.

she has no idea where she is. at all. but she's tired and confused and no one is there to stop her when rapunzel huffs and flops to the ground, her hair spilling out of her arms. ]

Oooooh. I don't know if we should keep wandering around, Pascal. Maybe we should wait for night time? I could at least get us oriented from the stars, then. But...that's pretty far away?

[ help her??????? help her. korra, you're her only hope. she's talking to her chameleon who has no ideas, either. ]

But I didn't see anything familiar from up there - how's that possible?

[Floater Island isn't too hard to reach when one has a glider staff handy. Though the new island for the base is just about done, Korra decides to do her training on Floater Island for the day, if only because she hasn't gotten a good look at the place since the day she arrived. It's a nice change of scenery.

Knowing that other residents of the base are regulars on the island, Korra isn't too surprised when she spots someone else on her way back. She offers the blonde a smile and a wave of her hand as she walks by.]

Hey. First time on the island? You look kinda confused.

[ oh my gosh it's a person. rapunzel squeaks, but. no. she's got this! she took on an entire tavern of people, but they were all guys? this is the first time she's ever seen another girl? who wasn't. you know. her mother.

she sits up bolt upright and fiddles with her hair. some of her hair. not all of her hair. ]

Er! Yes? I mean, yes! I'm a first-timer on this island, which I...completely know the location of. Right. [ Hotaru sees Rapunzel's video first and decides to head to the kitchen instead of answering via video. The name Rapunzel and all that hair makes Hotaru think of the fairy tale, and at this point, she can accept it as reality. Stranger things than fiction can happen on Iniidae.

She holds her hands up in a hopefully calming and reassuring way once Rapunzel's back on the ground. In one of her hands are a couple of origami flowers. ]

Hi. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. I wanted to say happy birthday!

[ She smiles and offers the flowers in her hands. ]

I know it's not much, but I also wanted to welcome you.

Oh! This is so...they're so pretty!

[ they're the first presents she's ever gotten for her birthday besides things from mother, which she'd had to ask for. paints and the like, always, but these - she didn't ask for these. although she'd had to remind people as usual it was her birthday, since...no one but rapunzel and pascal ever remembered the day.
