[ Anyway so one day a bunch of nerds went camping and it went exactly like this the end.

To be more precise, close to the lake on Floater Island a nice lil camping spot has been made! There are a couple of tents next to a campfire. The campfire even have logs arranged around them for that authentic camping experience? You sit on the logs, obviously.

A large variety of snacks have been brought over! There are hot dogs that can be roasted over the fire (made out of... some... animal idk use your imagination). Most importantly, they have marshmallows and chocolate to make s'mores! Because that is the most important part of camping. Clearly.

Mingle with other crew members! Wander around Floater Island and pet birdogs! Tell scary stories by the campfire! Fall into a ditch somewhere and have to be carried back by your crush like a stereotypical shoujo heroine! etc etc have fun ]

[Zelda is happy to come on the camping trip! She has never been on one before, in that all her chances to rough it were, you know, less about fun camping and more about running around hitting up seals etc. So she is hanging out by the campfire, happily roasting a marshmallow and putting it together like she learned to make a s'more. Then she tosses it over to the giant bird beside her, who snaps it up cheerfully and happily.

Unfortunately, Zelda's Loftwing gets a taste for s'mores. Such that he may hop around the fire attempting to snap s'mores out of people's hands. Sometimes including the hands. Zelda notices the attempt on YOU, dear prompt-accepter, with concern.] Hey! Don't do that! You know you shouldn't steal!

[Zelda wanders around the island a lot with and without her Loftwing, investigating different things, and she is always happy to invite along someone to enjoy it with her. She is also far too willing to get into trouble with people.]

[ Hotaru jumps a little, both at her s'more's disappearance and at Zelda's admonishment. Her eyes widen at the Loftwing's proximity, but she smiles. She wasn't mad in the first place, but there's no way she can get angry at a hungry animal. ]

It's okay. I can make another. I don't blame him. S'mores are tasty.

[Zelda puts her hand on the Loftwing's beak, but the chiding fades at Hotaru.] We won't let him take your next s'more! Can I make one for you?

[Floater Island is the safer island to explore, except for one key thing: Dirk and Jake have been using it for training for months. Specifically, Jake has been training Dirk on jungle survival skills. With stupid traps, and sneak attacks, and every other kind of nonsense.

It's why Dirk flashsteps out of nowhere to stop you from going down this particular path.]

You might not want to head down this way. I'm pretty sure there are a few traps that I still haven't set off.

[His expression is as neutral as ever but he isn't joking. Jake's traps are ridiculous.

[Whatever you want! Dirk will of course be enjoying just the fact that he gets to do campfire things and will happily (monotonously) participate in s'mores and storytelling and the like. He is also trained for jungle competence now so he'll keep an eye out for anyone about to do something stupid, like fall into a ditch, or eat a light frog.]

Most of the traps are meant to be uncomfortable or embarrassing. One of them was rigged to dump on my head a mud that attracted flies.

[Since he spends so much time on Floater Island, it's not surprise that he's just happy to be here with other people. A little anxious, there's butterflies in his stomach, but he's happy nonetheless.

He can be found easily enough a) playing with his dog, a big shaggy robotic dog but it is a dog. He might accidentally hit you with the ball he's throwing for him. Whoops?

But he's also around b) trying to make the biggest s'mores tower he can. Like a s'mores cake. But he keeps eating it instead and holding out s'mores for people to take.]

[Hinata was just trying to have a good time. Hanging out with friends, making too-sweet American snacks, pretending like this is all a camping trip they'll be able to go home from, that's the closest thing to his jam he can get right now.

Except even while most of his attention is elsewhere, he can't exactly undo all the rewiring his brain has gone through. Even he'd be hard-pressed to say exactly which martial art talent sets him in motion, but when he sees the ball from the corner of his eye, he reads instantly that it's too late to dodge. So he'll have to deflect it, one hand dropping the s'more he'd been holding to instead smack the ball with his palm. And catch the falling s'more with his other hand, because of course.

Deflecting the ball like that isn't just going to knock it to the ground. There's just a little bit of luck there, too, sending the ball rocketing back toward Jake's face. Ganbare gun friend.]

[It takes him off guard but he manages to block it with his hand, fumbling to catch it before it hits the ground.]

[Horō may not be SHSL everything, but her reflexes are trained enough that she can respond quickly to unexpected projectiles. The ball catches her gaze halfway along its arc through the air, and she raises one hand to catch it - which seems like the natural response for her.]

A ball? [She looks down at the object in her hand, unaware of Jake or the big dog that's probably bounding towards her.]

[Man people around here sure are impressive. Ben runs up first with Jake hot on his heels, smiling bashfully.]

Sorry about that Miss Horō! Looks like there was too much curve in that curveball. I think it was a curveball anyway. I threw it at an angle... [Sportsball terms are hard.] Anyhoo mind throwing that for old Ben here?

[ Oh, hey! Look, another dog! Except this one's a robotic dog. She doesn't mind that the ball hits her, even if she makes a face at first, but seeing it's a doggie chasing after it makes her feel a lot better. ]

Aw, c'mere, little guy!

[Ben is more than happy to bound up to her, tail wagging, headbutting her hand for pets. His fur even feels real! There's just something a little mechanical in how he moves.]

Haha, looks like he likes you! I was worried he might get shy...

[Al probably looks quite intimidating to people that don't know him. A huge suit of medieval style armour with conical spikes, flickering light of the campfire glinting from the metal. He's about to break any sense of being potentially intimidating, however.

He can't actually eat any of the food on offer, but that doesn't mean he's not interested in watching it be made. He's never seen a marshmallow before in his life, they just don't exist where he's from, and so a s'more is completely new to him. Curious, he reaches out to pluck up one of the gooey treats and promptly gets one finger stuck to another... and then another... and another... until his entire hand is a sticky mess.]

Ah-- Ah, oh no... oh dear, I don't think this was supposed to happen.

[Al will be around the whole night.

He will always be awake whenever anyone is around, even if they wake up ridiculously early in the morning, and is always happy to talk. He may also try and make sure the campers keep warm by covering any sleepers with added blankets.]

[ Hotaru does find Al intimidating from a distance, but a hand covered in marshmallows helps to diminish that impression. She's undecided if Al's someone who likes wearing armor all the time or actually is some kind of magical suit of armor. After meeting Fi, she can't jump to any conclusions. ]

Um, I can help, if you need it? How do you usually clean your armor? Water won't make it rust, will it?

[He jerks in surprise, and then sheepishly lowers his hand since he's been seen making a fool of himself.]

You wouldn't mind? I just can't seem to get it off myself, and it'll be hard washing it with just one hand. Water definitely won't hurt the metal, though, so don't worry about that.

[ Sometimes, when you get cleansed by magical fire, you feel as if you can get closer to fire. Or maybe it's you've never really had opportunity to make s'mores over a campfire before because you didn't have a very typical childhood. Either way (it's both), Hotaru's roasting a marshmallow, and she positions it a little too close to the flame, close enough that it catches on fire.

Hotaru yelps and drops both marshmallow and stick. She looks a little sorry as the fire consumes it all. ]

I didn't mean for that to happen...

[ She doesn't mean to waste food, but it is a little fascinating to watch. ]

b. the help a small girl out option

[ Hotaru isn't a shoujo heroine, but she is from a shoujo series. She is also a girl who can't ignore the cry of a pitiful sounding animal. She thought she heard the whine of a birdog and tried to follow it. Concerned, her focus wasn't on looking an the ground, and well, she found her way into a ditch instead.

She healed any small injuries she received from her fall, but she doesn't have the physical or magical means to unditch herself. ]

[ Her cry is hesitant. It's not nearly loud enough for someone who wants help. ]

[ If anyone isn't near, she'll send out a mass text after a... while:]

I'm sorry to bother people, but I fell into a ditch and can't get out. Please can someone find me?

[ Camping is a new experience for Hotaru, but it's something she's happily trying. Just being in the presence of so many great people is amazing, but she still is a little shy. If anyone's telling scary stories or any type of story, she'll be there, paying rapt attention as the best audience member you could ask for. She loves stories. ]

[Aware of the large number of young people who took off on this camping adventure, Horō determined that they would likely need some supervision. Ostensibly, that is why she's here. But supervision, it seems, can't keep someone from falling in a ditch. Or she's not actually supervising after all.]

I am sorry to hear that. I have been in similar straits myself.

Could you please tell me something about your surroundings, so I can find you? Outside of the ditch, please, if you can.

It's about a 10 to 15 minute walk from where everyone is. I was too focused on following a sound to note landmarks, but I'll try sending some pictures.

[ Hotaru jumps and captures some shaky cam photos of the ditch's surroundings and sends them. They're probably somewhat usable?? Future tech means better cameras surely? ]

[ Roxy knows that feel, having been both exploded to death and reborn (that's kinda like being cleansed, right???), and not having a normal childhood. She looks sympathetic when Hotaru's marshmallow falls to the ground. ]

Heeeyo, it's alright there, girlie. Here. [ She hands Hotaru her own stick, which has a couple of marshmallows on it for them to share. The edges of one are a little burnt, but they are edible otherwise. ]

You can help me eat mine, kay?

[ Exploding to death is not the same as being cleansed?? Roxy, please love yourself.

Hotaru looks up and at Roxy and gives her a small but grateful smile. Taking the stick, she plucks off one marshmallow before offering it back. ]

Thank you, Roxy. I'll be more careful next time. You can have some of my chocolate.

[ She gestures at the small pieces of chocolate she has stacked off to the side. ]

[ As exciting as s'mores are (no really, what is a marshmallow, why do you burn it, why does it taste so amazing!!) Ed has started to poke around the campsite. It's nice to be outdoors with other people, at least until Ed begins to wander a little too close to the edge of the lake.

In fact, he's far too close and practically falls in to the shallows on the edge. It's not quite a ditch and he doesn't need saving, but he does try to huff and puff his way out. His metal leg is heavy and it sinks into the silt. ] What the hell! I wasn't even that close! [ If you laugh, you might just get splashed as he stomps and sloshes his way out of the mud and onto dryer land. ]

[ Come bug Ed! He's eager to explore and be a little more laid back than he normally is on base! He could be found using his alchemy to make a slide or two, maybe even a small obstacle course for them to do, or he could be found examining this whole s'mores business, and probably eating too many marhsmallows for his own good, or whatever hijinks you think he should get up to! Drag him around, call him short, annoy him! ]

[Jade doesn't laugh! ...Okay, there might have been a liiiittle snort-giggle, but she really does her best to be polite. She floats, which helps ensure she doesn't meet the same fate as the tiny alchemist, so her feet are a few inches off of the ground when she goes over to check on him.]

Are you okay? Do you need a change of clothes or anything?

[Came Time Fun]

[Komaeda was full of quiet smiles. It was fun to go on a trip with people, to an interesting island, and play around. It was almost like the fun parts of the Island School Trip! However, he really didn't know much about camping. In the end he watched everyone else do things for the most part keeping off to the side. At some point he even tries to make a s'more, but it becomes a huge inedible mess sadly.

However, wasn't there something missing?]

People play games during these sorts of things, right? What kind of games should we play? I think it would be nice to do something as a group.

[He remembered her talking about wanting to come here before, but then, well events came in the way. Though... he wasn't quite sure about trekking around too much.]

[He's not engaging all that much, but he was around. Accidents were probably going to be a given, but hopefully nothing too bad would happen. He's in a good mood as well, he almost seems relaxed, a genuine relaxed as apposed to the fake casualness he had to him normally.]

I'm positive that there is nothing on this island that we can't handle. The only thing we even remotely need to worry about are cave crawlers. I've gotten plenty of practice dealing with them on the Aurora though, so it's once again nothing we can't handle.

[She has her chainsaw in its lipstick form, so as to not frighten away the birdogs.]

We can remain on the beach if you wish. The birdogs mostly congregate around there anyway. If you still wish to attempt gardening, there are still plenty of plants along the beach as well.
