POST-HURRICANE LOG | OPEN MINGLE
[Past the 9th of the month, the hurricane's finally blown itself out, leaving a great deal of mess behind (but at least, a lot less mess than there would have been without the crew's various antics, right?)
After the calm there's the storm, but after the storm, there's...uh, actually, it's not all that calm again yet. Look at all these notable goings on that you can play with:
SICK PEOPLE are still a thing. Are you still suffering from the ravages of alien cave flu? Finally finding the energy to crawl out of bed? Starting to come down with it yourself? Getting dosed with cure attempts? Doing the dosing? Or maybe you're not sick at all but went hurricane surfing and are now prone in the medbay. It's been a rough couple of weeks.
The HURRICANE'S AFTEREFFECTS still linger. Fish in the base aquariums and biomes are just starting to resume their regular activities. Maybe some of your special fish friends are still spooked and need some coaxing out? Maybe you want to swim out to a more distant biome to check on creatures like the Reefbacks or the Birdogs? Or maybe you want to stick closer to home and do things like finish repairing the busted corridors, and cleaning out the kitchens and showers so the food and bathing situation doesn't descend back into complete travesty.
For those who've started wandering out, there's also FAMILIAR ITEMS washing up -- things from your home, or at least...someone's home. Is an embarrassing photo of you now plastered against an observatory window for the world to see? Your fancy car from home buried in the sand of the Safe Shallows?
Lastly, on the night of the 13th (and subsequent nights...), a distant DISCO LIGHTSHOW becomes totally visible on the horizon, in the Monolith's direction. What the heck? Maybe that's worth checking out.
And of course, there's always PLANNING, MISSIONS AND SHENANIGANS to do. Go nuts!]

[The med bay's been pretty busy lately, huh? But for a rare moment late in the morning, there's no one in there . . . or at least, there's not supposed to be anyone in there right now. No one went in. And yet one of the beds has someone in it, suddenly kicking at the sheets covering their body (in an unfortunately morgue-like fashion until they start moving under there, yikes) as they come awake.
Your number's increased by one!
The pink-haired, pink-eyed, jumpsuited guy in the bed finally untangles himself enough to throw the sheets off and sit upright, staring around the room with bleary confusion. You might have happened into the med bay while he was wiggling around, or right at this moment. Or maybe you're summoned by his baffled yelp once he's had a quick looksie around:]
Aaaaahhhh?!
2. Steel Ball . . . You Should Probably Run
[The whole song and dance of "go and explore the bizarre new areas of your new home" is unfortunately pretty well-known to Kazuichi by now. Granted, this is a little different; this base is only new to him, and there's a whole lot of it at once to wander around and explore as he acclimates to the situation. Which is, at least for now, fine by him. He's already been to the observatories. He's seen some of the weird creatures in the waters outside. He'll stay in here forever, thanks.
(For now.)
Also, he's not being asked to kill anyone, and as far as he knows no one's being asked to kill him either, so in that sense it's a step up.
Right now he's checking out the farm. Useful place, right? Lots of food? More specifically, though, he's checking out Rapplejack, by which I mean he's doing his very best to approach the robot horse guard in a non-threatening manner. He's not here to steal food, it's cool! He's just—]
Can I? Please? Ahhhh, I promise I'll be gentle! I promise I can put you back together afterwards! I just wanna take you apart! Pleeeeease let me take you apart! G-good pony? Good boy!
[His eyes are all lit up like a friggin' Christmas tree over here. This is probably not going to end well.]
3. Wildcard
[Lay it on me!]
2.
Rapplejack'd be a pretty bad guard horse if she let herself get taken apart on a whim.
no subject
GYAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH?! How'd you do that?!
no subject
[He knows that wasn't the question.
And let's be honest it isn't even the answer to the hypothetical question he's pretending to answer.]

...which is to say, Mikleo does not act with any of his usual tact, and just hurls a pillow at Souda's face. this -- looks like the pillow just up and attacked him of its own accord, because he's a bit ghosty.]
no subject
Hey! Knock it off, man—
[Only then does he actually try to identify the source of the pillow.
. . . Huh. Wait a second here. Someone under the sheets? No . . .
Well, he's at least convinced for now that it's just some jerk hiding. He keeps looking around, trying to suss them out.]

It's largely thanks to the fever that at the first sound of Kazuichi's voice, Hajime doesn't really react. He's hallucinating his friends now, that's great.
...Wait a second.
He almost stumbles as he breaks into a run, shoving open the door to the medbay. His chest hurts with a kind of painful hope, a hope that he doesn't yet feel guilty for.]
S-Souda?!
no subject
Hinata?!
Oh thank God. So it's just that he was the last one to wake up after they'd been rescued! Waking up all alone had . . . kind of messed with his head a little already, but now everything makes sense. They'd made it! They'd—all made it, right?! How long's he even been out for Hinata to be this surprised he's awake?!
Screw all that! He launches himself to his feet and across the floor to grab Hinata in his arms and just fuckin' hug him, because in a moment like this, who cares how it looks? He's so relieved. Of everyone to wake up to first . . . well, Sonia-san would have been even better, obviously, but . . .
He hugs crushingly tight, blissfully unaware of any lingering illnesses going on in this room right now.]
Hinata! My man! Can't believe you left me all alone in here, dude . . . I was freaking out when I woke up! Am I the last one? Ah, that's so lame . . .
no subject
[Too tight! Too tight!! He really should have seen this coming!! The sharp inhale of surprise at the sudden hug triggers a series of hacking coughs, Hajime just kind of patting the other boy's back in a reflexive there-there, and also as part of a please let me go!]
Souda!
[His voice is more a wheeze than anything else. Maybe if it hadn't been so shocking, the hug would have been more touching. As it is, Hajime does eventually relax because, well... he's missed his friends. The kind of weirdos he can understand. So it's a few seconds before he actually tries to struggle free.]
C-c'mon, let go... what are you talking about, "the last one?"
no subject
Even if he's asking weird questions.]
The last one to wake up! . . . Hey. Wait a second . . . then you were awake with Sonia-san all this time? Unsupervised?! What did you two do while I was out?!

Unless there's a dragon outside we need to know about, can you keep it down?
no subject
[That's not keeping it down, sorry. Kazuichi hadn't noticed anyone else in the room when he'd scanned it, so Sorey might as well be a ghost for all that he "suddenly appeared" here.
At least the source of the grumbling isn't hard to identify this time. Once Kazuichi identifies it, he at least manages to lower his voice somewhat.]
I-I didn't think anyone else was in here! I don't even know where "here" is . . . gimme a break!
[And then:]
—You're kidding about the dragon, right?

Anyway, the yelp totally startles her while she's on the way to the kitchen to grab something to snack on. She'll be backing up to peek her head in the medbay to see what's going on and that nobody's dying. ]
Hey, everything alright in there?
no subject
Ah! Y—wait, no! Where the hell am I?!
no subject
D.Va enters the medbay to offer some assistance, he looks so lost--but when she actually gets a closer look at him, her face contorts into something of confusion mixed in with mild annoyance. ]
...Rin...did you go and bump your head on something? Oh my god, please don't tell me you got amnesia or something because I can't help you with that at all.
