A. Telepathy (or action if you'd like - she's in the base)

[ The telepathic message comes from one of your younger crew members. A shy child like Elize dislikes having to broadcast her thoughts to a group of people, but she's concerned. She won't find answers if she keeps the thoughts to herself. ]

Um... has- has anyone seen a girl named Mai? I met her when I woke up on the scary ship. I haven't seen her since...

[ She only heard about one or two people going missing... it hasn't crossed her mind that Mai went missing for possibly the same reasons. She had only spoke with the girl once, but it doesn't take long for Elize to consider someone as a friend. ]

B. Action (On the Base)

[ Alternately, the twelve-year-old can be found in the kitchen, arranging sea shells and rocks in a jar in an attempt to make the base more homey with sea decor. The shells and rocks were found during her mission with Tytree. Although it was initially to stock up for food ingredients especially since a hurricane is coming along, she couldn't help but take a few little decorations with her. Perhaps she can find a way to turn them into gifts somehow. Everyone on the crew is a friend! That's what she thinks at least.

The moment she notices someone might be watching her arranging the sea shell decor, she'll freeze up with wide eyes and look down bashfully. ]

...oh. Hello. [ She'll keep her eyes focused on the sea shells. You didn't startle her at all, nope! ] I found these when I was with Tytree. I thought they would make it more... cozy?

C. Dreamscape (Closed to Mikleo)

[ Elize can be found in the dreamscape, sitting on the ocean floor amongst a pod of reefbacks swimming about. In her lap is a pink and purple doll. A doll and also her best friend, Teepo who can only be with her in her dreams. The reefbacks are keeping her extra company, talking and trying to comfort each other, especially after the death of the one Reefback that tried to aid the crew on their escape from the Reapers. ]

I'm sorry I couldn't save your family. I wish there was more that I could do... [ Following those words is a different voice, coming from Elize's stuffed animal: ] Elly tried her hardest!

[ neil is at the farm when the message is sent, and it startles him at first. after all his weeks here he still isn't used to hearing other people in his head. it's sort of a creepy feeling.

when elize mentions mai though, he frowns. he is... pretty certain he knows who mai is. she was aggressively friendly towards him and neil had no idea what the hell to think of it. now that he thinks about it, though, he hasn't seen her around either? ]

Uh, I haven't seen her around. Sorry?

[ A very disappointed telepathic "oh". Honestly, she doesn't know much else to say besides that. There's a long awkward pause, making it seem like that's all Elize has to say in response.

Wait, she does kind of have more to say!: ]

I hope she's okay.

[ neil is really bad at comfort, and he is pretty sure that is what this girl probably needs. he's not really the person to do that sort of thing though, so there is another awkward pause as he tries to figure out what to respond with. ]

She seemed nice.

[ that's... not really helping. ] I met her at the reefback funeral.

[ Ah. Considering what Tytree tended to lug back with him, she thinks shells are probably a lot better than another squirming, longing-for-freedom octopus. Even if it had been cute.

But these... ]

They're really pretty.

[ She's not scary, Elize!! ]

[princessia]

[ The comment brings Elize to lift her chin up, to bring her to actually make eye contact to whoever is speaking with her. Her cheeks glow red and she smiles bashfully. Decorating is new to her and she did good! She feels good about herself. ]

...Thank you. I'm glad you think so.

[ ... Oh, she's cute. She reminds her a little bit of... well, Etty, but that's probably a thought best left alone. ]

Did you do all of this on your own?

[ Loki is one of the few people on the crew who look Elize's age, if not younger. His demeanor, on the other hand, is rather older; he's self-assured, offering an encouraging smile as he looks over her handiwork. ]

That's a great idea. We keep building new things for the base, but it still feels pretty cold, doesn't it? Things like this will help put us at ease.

[ Some kids put Loki on edge, but Elize seems like the sweet type. ]

Um...

[ She has had very little communication with other children. During her first attempts trying to make friends with the girls in Sharilton Square, she had to face a bit of rudeness. But she's relieved that the boy speaking to her doesn't sound anything like those children. He seems far more mature than them... ]

I don't know how to build anything for the base, so I thought I should try decorating.

[ And she doesn't want to get in the way... ]

I think it's a worthwhile endeavor. I'm hopeless at decorating, myself, so I admire people who are capable of it!

[ Yes, even if they are twelve-year-olds. Maybe especially if they are twelve-year-olds. ]

Are you very interested in arts and crafts?

[ Mao is pretty curious about what she's doing, though when he hears his friend's name from her, he becomes even more interested in this. ]

You found them with Tytree? Well, I guess that's not all that surprising. [ It's not difficult to picture Tytree spending his time here helping little girls look for shells. ] They actually look kinda nice, though.

[ So good job, Elize. ]

[princessia]

[ She nods, pretty proud that she'd found the shells together with Tytree. ]

Tytree is my new Big Bro!

[ "Kinda nice" is good enough praise for her. She looks up, offering the tiniest of smiles to him. ]

[ Mao, being used to his party pretending each other is their sibling, takes this pretty casually. ]

He is, huh? He's mine, too! [ A pause. ] Does that make you my new sister ...?

[he hesitates at first, because he's not sure if he should just pop in on someone else visiting the Reefbacks. but eventually he'll drift closer when he recognizes Elize's voice in the middle of the creatures' murmurs, curious as to who else is there with here.]

Hello again...

That voice...

[ The voice sounds familiar, but the face that goes along with it is one that she doesn't recognize. She could only hear Mikleo's voice in her head in the waking world, after all.

Teepo's pointy ears perk up attentively. He'll finish Elize's thought: ]

Who are you and why do you sound just like Mikleo?!

[...he'll give Teepo a slightly leery look for a moment, but just for a moment, because let's face it, it's a lot less creepy than the Homestuck puppets are -- and raise his hands in a peaceable gesture.]

It is me -- Mikleo, I mean. You can see me here, huh?

[ It's immediately apparent that this child is so much like Hotaru there's a twist of something like guilt. But Michiru mentally pushes the other shy twelve year old girl in her life away, focusing on this girl's bashful, turned down expression. She offers a smile, leaning down to look closer, tucking some hair behind her ear. ]

Hello. It's very pretty. Perhaps you could color sand to create some more variation?

[princessia]

Thank you.

[ Elize offers a small smile in return, albeit rather awkwardly. She looks down at her jaw, trying to mentally picture what her creation would look like with the addition of sand. ]

How about sand that's... dark pink?

[ Most of the shells and stones are already a pale pink color. She just really likes pink. ]

Whooaaaaa, they're super pretty!

[His ears sure are twitching and his tail sure is wagging pretty excitedly.]

Are you just gonna leave 'em around? Maybe you could make necklaces out of them!

[ When Kaden turns up to comment her work, she puts on a smile with ease. It must be the tail and ears again. They're still adorable. ]

I think the base needs the decorations the most, but I've saved some shells for some necklaces.

[Fukami's been observing-- but politely, just several glances after he had entered the kitchen to get himself some tea. His tentacles are bunched around his legs save for two, pulling down a mug for himself.

Eventually, seems like she noticed his subtle looks... and inclines his head.]

That is a good idea. [Pause.] If you wished, you could also add dry sand to that jar.

[princessia]

Uh...

[ It's difficult for her to not pay attention to someone with tentacles around their legs, but refrains from staring at them too long, knowing it would be rude to do so. ]

Oh...! That might be a good idea too. [ She looks at the jar, canting her head slightly. ] It'll be like part of the beach is with us.

[ruffledup]

They look lovely. [Josephine smiles, leaning forward slightly to get a closer look at the jar.]

This is a wonderful idea, perhaps just the sort of thing the base needs. [And she turns to look at Elize now.] I do not know if anyone else has thought of anything quite like this yet.

[princessia]

Thank you.

[ She puts on a smile when she sees the familiar face, remembering the woman back on the transporter. ]

Everyone else is busy building stuff. I'm... not good at that, so I thought I'd decorate instead.

[Feferi had been watching with a lot of curiosity--and when the girl explains herself, Feferi brightens considerably.] I think it's a great idea! It's like bringing little bits of the ocean inside! Can I help?

[princessia]

[ Raising her head, she's surprised to make eye contact with Feferi. She's a little different-looking than some of the other people aboard the ship. There's all sorts of races in the crew. It doesn't bother her though.

Elize smiles shyly. ]

Of course. I have a lot more sea shells...

[ She makes a small gesture towards some more pink shells and stones piled on the counter top. ]
