[Although the month is drawing to a close, there's still plenty to do--such as clearing out the last few rabites, working on constructing portions of the new and improved base, sharing various information gleaned from the month's efforts, and make sure to have some downtime in between all of that. Getting a sun tan before fall fully sets in is important too!]

I'll probably have to wait a few hours before going over the findings for this one though.

[sighs, propping his cheek on one hand]

Don't forget to drink water in between...drinks. Okay?

[waving at hand at him, unconcerned]

I won't! I'm not planning on trying to out-drink Rose or anything, so don't worry about it.

I'd hope not, that sounds like the way to a serious headache.

[peeking over to check how much he's drunk, anyway; he might as well find out what Sorey's tolerance is while he's here barsitting]

You make it sound like you're the one who's going to be stuck with the headache and not me.

[he's had like four sips but with as strong as this stuff is he'll probably be done by drink #2]

[raises his hands in the air, in a wide-armed shrug]

"Mikleooooo, my head hurts, can't you bring me some ice cream to make it feel better..."

[shaking his head; that gets a chuckle out of him for mikleo's terrible voice acting]

I don't even sound like that!

No, you don't. It's what your face looks like, though.

I'm not going to make a face like that either! I can handle it just fine. I just need to drink plenty of water too.

[pitches a little of the water out of the jug and into Sorey's glass (the other one for the water, not the one full of booze), with a gesture]

[He does set down his glass of alcohol to take a drink of water; sipping at it doesn't make it any less potent, and he's still getting used to the slightly bitter aftertaste that comes with it.]

You might need to keep an eye on Rose more than me though.

Oh, I'm keeping. At least she's having fun. It's a good thing you found those bottles when you did; I'm not entirely sure how seaweed mead would actually have tasted.

Like salty fish water, I'm guessing.

[shuddering a little at the thought; that would put anyone off of alcohol.]

It was pretty lucky that I even found what I did, given how long that thing has been sitting out there. Everything kept pretty well.

Some of the advanced preservation techniques they use to keep foods are pretty amazing. Though...I'm still not really sure about all the canned meat and pasta you brought back with it. I mean, it's easy to prepare, but it also tastes a little funny after you eat more than one serving.

You thought so too, huh? The ingredients are stored so that they last longer, but you can tell they aren't as fresh if you eat too much of it. They might work better as supplemental ingredients to a meal rather than a whole meal on their own.

[sipping at his drink again; he seems fine, though every now and then he takes too big of a sip and makes a face at the aftertaste.]

I can imagine. It would've been helped by more greens and seasoning, but I suppose that apart from lab gardens like the one that was initially here at the base, it's a lot more difficult to stow the resources for growing fresh and flavorful produce on a spaceship. Especially if it takes as long to reach a planet as those books from the Aurora say...

[he's not going to get drunk on like, a teaspoon of it, right. he's not THAT lightweight]

[passing the glass over and taking another swig of water in the meantime. it's about half gone so there's still some for Mikleo to try, as long as he doesn't try to down it in one shot.]

Other than the aftertaste it's pretty good. Just, you know, strong.

[he just takes a sip and then passes it back over, eyes watering a little as he swallows]

I--I'm no expert--but yeah, that's pretty strong.

I think that's supposed to be a part of the appeal. I don't feel any different though.

Would you be able to really tell if you felt different, if you were drunk?

Even if I couldn't tell, you'd be able to tell me.
