[Although the month is drawing to a close, there's still plenty to do--such as clearing out the last few rabites, working on constructing portions of the new and improved base, sharing various information gleaned from the month's efforts, and make sure to have some downtime in between all of that. Getting a sun tan before fall fully sets in is important too!]

CLOSED TO THE ZESTIES

[ they're all camped out in their room, because where else would they be, and rose has taken it upon herself to make a pillow fort big enough to drape over all four of them, never mind that there's not too much personal space under here. she's sitting cross-legged next to alisha, opposite of sorey and mikleo, and between them are three clear glasses and the tall bottle of alcohol that sorey had managed to bring back from the monolith. mikleo talked to her about the option of distilling it, too, but both he and sorey told her it'd be a lot more time-consuming, so this is the short term until the long term pays off.

honestly, god knows how long this was sitting where sorey found it, but that's irrelevant. it's alcohol, it's there, and it's Bonding Time. ]

All right! Everyone's rounded up!

[ and by bonding, she means it's time to stop thinking about all this complicated being-on-an-alien-planet stuff, relax, and above all, get sorey and alisha wasted with her. no peer pressure here! none. poor mikleo was serious about insisting that someone needs to supervise, but rose has a feeling that seeing sorey tipsy let alone drunk will make it worth it. besides, mikleo promised rose he'd let her hit him up, too, next time there's no risk of sorey and alisha getting too drunk to stand up after like one gulp. they'll be total lightweights. rose just Knows these things. ]

So, shall I do the honors?

[ she's pouring the three of them shots before anyone has time to answer. of course she'll do the honors. ]

It'd suck doing this alone, so I'll go ahead and propose a toast. To being stuck here together!

[ she clinks her glass to sorey's with a giddy smile before chasing it down in one swift gulp. not bad. ]

[aspearing]

[ Alisha can't help but pause when Rose announces what they're toasting to, pulling her drink closer to her afterwards. Was that something to celebrate? ... Well, perhaps. Like this, they're all together. It wasn't an opportunity that they would've had back at home. And... She's rather happy to help everyone like this - to further do what they can. ]

... To being here together. [ She agrees with a small smile. ]

Though, there's many other things we can celebrate to, can't we?

What else did you have in mind, princess? We have all night.

[ rose is already pouring another drink, though, bless her. it's strong stuff but her tolerance is pretty high, so she's good, but these two, on the other hand... ]

[aspearing]

We made it out safe, didn't we? Perhaps to that.

[ Alisha'll drink slowly, however. The alcohol tastes a little too bitter to her for her to want to drink it quickly. ]

Sure! To that, too, then.

[ she doesn't care what they're toasting to as long as they all get to drink together! bonding, okay. ]

Also, a bit of advice? I know it isn't exactly tasty stuff, so getting it over with in one or two gulps is the most quick and effective way to get a good buzz going.

[ ROSE PLEASE. Just... This Look. She'd wanted to do this to relax, but!! ]

That isn't why I wanted to drink.

[raising his glass to hers, clinking them together before taking a sip. it's strong enough that he makes a tiny face of surprise.]

There's plenty to celebrate, in my opinion. We could make a whole list.

[aspearing]

Agreed. Though, I'd like to hear your reasons, as well.

[ Ah... Was he not expecting the taste to be bitter? She supposes that Sorey probably didn't have much experience with alcohol... ]

[imsorey]

[wine and chocolate alcohol have very different flavors and he faces he's making indicate he is still getting used to it. but he makes less faces the more he sips.]

Let's see...Making new friends, learning new things, seeing other planets, discovering new technologies, finding new books to read...that's a good start, right?

[aspearing]

I'd say that it's a wonderful start.

[ She agrees with him. It's a rather hectic situation, but it's just like him to find the good in it all. ]

To discovering new things, and making new friends, then.

[Ducking his head just a little more so that he fits properly inside of the makeshift pillowfort, he can't help but laugh at her dramatic flair. He should have known what he was getting into when he agreed to this, really.]

That's not a good toast! How about...to friendship and adventure?

[ rose rolls her eyes, but the giggle that escapes makes that pretty ineffective. ]

You are such a sap, Sorey. Alright, then. To friendship, adventure, and boring ass ruins.

[ and she is not wasting the least bit of time downing it in one gulp. ]

The ruins were at least a little fun, it's okay to admit that much.

[He is smart enough to know not to try and chug alcohol, so he sips at his instead of downing it like Rose. BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY.]

Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say, you big nerd.

[ she knows he's used to her teasing by now. while sorey takes his sweet time, rose is already pouring herself more. ]

-- It's easier to just down it all at once. More effective that way.

[ she leans over, closer to sorey, just to give his shoulder an encouraging pat. go for it!!!! ]

[He doesn't mind the teasing, but that doesn't mean he's going to walk blindly into a trap

well, he would, but he still has enough common sense to know that downing a glass of alcohol sounds like a bad idea.]

It seems a little safer to pace myself though.

[Mikleo's leaning back a little (though not enough to collapse the pillow fort's walls), and he is supervising, more or less, arms folded. there's the tiniest of smiles on his face when he thinks no one's looking; while he doesn't have a glass of his own, he does make a gesture when she toasts like he's raising one.]

To new discoveries while we're here together, too.

[he kind of wonders if this is how a Lord of the Land feels when the people in their domain decide to party.]

[Despite Rose's best attempts he is still just sipping at his drink, but he does raise his glass again and echo Mikleo's sentiments.]

To new discoveries! We've had a lot of those.

[nodding, mock-serious (or maybe actually serious, it is Sorey)]

I'll probably have to wait a few hours before going over the findings for this one though.

[sighs, propping his cheek on one hand]

Don't forget to drink water in between...drinks. Okay?

[ rose is watching legit all of these soremiku shenanigans unfold without butting in and ruining it and she is so pleased. this is so good. ]

It looks like everyone has something to add. See? Isn't this nice?

[ rose smiles sweetly-- as sweet as any of rose's smiles can be-- before she starts drinking, taking bigger gulps than sorey and alisha combined.

maybe five whole minutes have passed before rose nudges mikleo, looking exasperated. ]

Mikleooo, Sorey and Alisha are being boring with the whole taking it slow thing. Make them lighten up.
